Suddenly your huntless hunting trips make a lot more sense.

I hunt like that too, except I call it camping. :anonymous:

    and….

it’s no wonder they get crusty as shit. Little or no primer. The factory paint is fairly thick, but it’s not bonded to the metal, at all.

Ha, there’s actually a dude up the street selling an 80something Ford.. four door, eight foot bed, dual tanks. I’ve been thinking about it, but haven’t stopped yet to see what he wants for it.

I think vehicles peaked in the nineties, each brand in its own niche of the market… we need a new player to shake it up and make something people want.

    I dunno.

1975-1985, in my opinion, was the automotive dark ages. Horsepower sucked, quality sucked worse, design especially sucked. All cars were square headlights and UV susceptible plastic.

The 90s was the Renaissance. Everything went bubble-butt and cute. And then people remembered that angry eyes is what people buy, and hard angles returned, except this time it was triangles and wedges instead of squares.

We had a good run for a good two decades. Cars were interesting, mostly. But now we have a problem. The arms race to see who can fit the biggest grill has reached it's zenith. Since we've run out of real estate for big grilles, now everything is scoops. Hood scoops, bumper scoops, fender scoops, headlight scoops, everyone gets a scoop. Scoops and touchscreens. Touchscreen scoops.

Here's an idea, the designers say. Remember those wheels that like to collect dirt in places only reachable by a dental pick? Let's make an entire car like that.

And didn't get me started on the interior. I drove a new AMG Merc today. Mom asked me to turn the radio down. I didn't know how. :anonymous: Not exaggerating, I sat in the parking lot for five minutes looking for something that resembled a radio. I had to use voice command to do it.
There wasn't a single knob or button in that car. Not one. Just wheel, pedals, seats, and three jumbotrons. I couldn't find a speedometer. Just three versions of Google maps staring me in the face. Mom said "don't let it take off on you, it's an AMG." Cool. All I felt was turbo lag with not nearly enough turbo. I hated literally everything about that car, but that's not something one says out loud.

Shit I forgot what I was talking about. Anyways, the next era of car design is going to get real weird for a minute.
