Saw 4 last night 3 this am, buck I’m hunting is Mia for 6 nights

 

tomarra is the only decent temp day for the next 10....

 

Nothing really been coming in during shooting times so i rented skidsteer and did some yard work. Also ran it through the property trail. Made bunch noise so im curious to see what if any deer showup on game camera. Im going to skip tomorrow morning.. and i bet a doe will show up

 

Ok it's cool enough and slow enough I have time again to play with these case jacketed bullets. I played for far too long to try and shape them more aerodynamically by force, so I broke in to my daughter's bracelet making kits... It isn't perfect but I think I might can refine in it. If I make the case a bit longer and don't fill it to the the top with lead, as the plastic bead melts it should be uniformly contained by the brass. It is like a perfect timing game to play, hot enough to start melting the beads but not liquify them. Muzzleloader season opens Monday and I don't have time to make enough to test them, but I may make quite a few during season and see what they do in jugs of water and how well I can get them to shoot.

 

Muzzle loader comes in here today, as soon as the sun comes up.

Shot a few yesterday, target was at 60 yards.

Close enough.

37° right now. some doe came in around 1045pm ish and a buck around 622am kinda surprised with all the noise i made with skidsteer.

 

All my deer have taken a break been 7days all this power pole upgrade has down graded my hunting

 

As suspected, they were active last night. 2 new rubs 50ft in front of my blind that weren't there yesterday.
I'll pull the card later.

Rutting here. Had a 6pt push a doe by yesterday morn and later a spike. Was going to get down at 1130 but saw a nice buck pushing a doe at 1120. So I lingered. They eventually came back around and bedded in blow down oaks for next 4 hours. One would get up and feed about every hour then bed again. Had me pinned. Two other smaller bucks came in and the 8 pt would run them off. Ended up sitting all day till dark. Was a good hunt.

Feel like some deer in urban interface areas get used to some movement

 

Not this time, shot out of the shop. Off the deck is an option though

 

They do. Im rural out of city. More farming type area. They dont spook to easy unless you are right on them. Its just a matter of bringing them in

 

Next weekend starts rifle season here...i can shoot off my back deck
