Rant: The city of Ashland has no transfer service (dump for us old folks...) on the weekend. WTAF!!!!! When am I supposed to get rid of stuff? Take a day off from work to hit the two hour window that Republic figures the public needs? This is stupid. No, actually its flucking stupid.

On another soap box-I am going to make my truck happy and put new rear shocks on. Right now. because I can't go to the dump. If all goes well I might even get the drivers side axle boots done too. Lots of motivation. Lets see how it goes.

I live in the city limits and our county has no place for the public to take yard waste. (dumb)
They'll take 10bags of leaves in the fall...(I could quadruple that), it's why I mulch the crap out of them.

Edit: since you're here. It doesn't look like the 4xinnovations shackle flip 'requires' welding.
They bolt to the holes from the factory rivets......
Though a few welds probably couldn't hurt.

@Thatbassguy beat me to it which I appreciate! We have pretty much everything even if we don’t have it on the site so just let me know if you’re on the hunt for something different than what you see.

    Ugh.

You bastards have me thinking about suspension. :goingcrazy:

I know it's probably due. Those MT64's sound very appealing. I made the mistake of reading an article about them. o_O

Are they IFP? I would personally not spend decent money on a shock that isn’t rebuildable at all. I know we had some discussion a few pages about about rebuildable/not, but at least having a shock that can be rebuilt is appealing. That gives you the option to tune them really accurately [if you want] and/or make upgrades and changes as the components wear out.

Everything is a compromise. Rebuilding shocks means you either need 2 sets or a vehicle that can be out of service while the shocks are being fixed. For people that aren’t interested in that, the compromise is a less custom setup. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though.

The MT64'S have drain and fill holes(or whatever they are), if that means anything?

Ehh. I've been pretty satisfied with the Bilsteins. And, 80K miles (so far) with no maintenance is pretty nice.

Needing 2 sets, or having the 4Runner down long term every few years is a total deal breaker for me.

If I was off-road racing, I might be more inclined to spend the extra money and deal with the maintenance.

What is IFP? These are OME, monotube.

Internal Floating Piston. Just the tech that the shock uses to separate the fluid and gas. I looked it up and they are.

I feel that. There’s a good middle ground somewhere between race-spec shocks that need seasonal maintenance and shocks that basically can’t be repaired, I’m just not sure where that is.

I should really finish all my shock repair stuff just for reference. It’s reasonably easy to take them apart and do the internal maintenance.

Twice a year we have bulky waste pick up.
Some things they won't take but I put it out by the road anyway. Lots of scavengers drive around picking through people's piles.
