I don't have the supercharger much less the smaller than stock pulley BUT how wouldn't this negatively affect gas mileage? Boost is on sooner.. more air, fuel and power... nothing's free. You can gingerly press the gas pedal and keep RPM very low (think <2000 rpm) and get MPG similar to a stock Tacoma. My guess is that most people don't install the supercharger to drive like a geriatric.

I already have the super charger just debating about changing pulley size. Fuel mileage already sucks I don’t really care about that. It’s more the range of the Tacoma tank that kills me.

I have the LRA tank and I also have an additional skid plate on it. The install was done by one of their dealers, Wanderlust Overland, and I’m not sure who supplied the skid plate.

Skid plate is simple enough I just don’t want to be dragging stuff everywhere. Truck is hardly lifted with “34s” and I like it like that. Working on getting my front skid higher then I might try and get the transmission crossmember higher. But the extra range sounds amazing.

Your statement seems correct, for a given throttle position, so more boost, more power, equals traveling faster. But your foot will adjust boost to be in balance with your desired speed, same as always, the throttle will just be slightly less open with greater boost. Also there is the bypass, defeating SC boost when in vacuum. So smaller pulley makes more boost/power available, but not necessarily using that extra while maintaining a speed.

Agree totally that nothing is free though, greater parasitic loss, spinning the SC rotors faster at any given speed. Expect it to be slight though. Most of all, I totally agree with your closing, more boost is VERY LIKELY to get utilized, or why add it! WOT fuel economy will diminish steeply with added boost, from the necessary additional richness, to stave off PIng! but how long do we really stay in heavy boost; unless you do a-lot of towing.

Ordered mine through R4T about 4 weeks ago now. Their website warned of an 8 week lead time, so still another 4 weeks to go :(. Hoping it comes in faster.

The anticipation is killing me! Wish I had just ordered it this summer when I was originally considering one!

No affiliation on my end, but I bought mine through Summit and had it just a few days later. The difference is Summit actually has them in stock vs drop shipping that is offered from other sites. As of this post they have 8 x in stock for the 3rd gen with estimated shipping being same day (and FREE shipping).

    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mps-011935005bl/make/toyota/model/tacoma

With that said, I am still super happy with mine (regardless where it came from). The OTT tune I will say was a necessity on top of it.

It is worth the wait! Like many have said before the OTT tune is a necessity.

I have the LRA tank in my truck and it sits just above the bottom of the frame.

Unless you are extreme rock crawling, you're not going to hit the LRA tank any more than you would hit the stock tank.

Wow, wish I had found this place before ordering. Would have gone that route! Hopefully someone else sees this and learns from my mistake.

Well my stock tank has scrape marks on it already lol.

Long range tank low on the list. I’d like to do the rear long travel suspension first.

I did order the 87mm pulley shows up next week truck gets tune update on the 14th.

Of course the tank is below the frame at the rear axle - the frame rises quite a bit at that point.

With no skid plate, mine is even with the frame forward of the rear wheel, just shy of 20" off the ground.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but the 1st gen taco guage pod fits very well on our A pillars with just a bit of heat to bend and flap disk to trim. I just have double sided tape holding it on, but I plan to use epoxy when it's ready to go on permanently.

I feel like I've seen them come on sale over at Underdog, but I can't actually recall if it was a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gen charger.
