Danny Carey is my all time favorite drummer and seeing a prog metal badass like Portnoy giving him all the props AND learning one of his toughest songs was super cool. Thanks for sharing that!

We've been having beautiful clear fall days and now it's raining a ton. Tomorrow looks nice at least

 

Nothing major, a few small storms maybe next week. It's going to stay cold. Temps in the 30s. Snow guns are on at all the resorts.

 

One of mine also. The channel has a lot of good drummers doing covers. Chad Smith is always entertaining.
When Olivia gets older I am going to get "her" a new set.

I learned to hold a basic steady beat on the drums but that's it.

@Tour991 and I were talking about getting our kids started on instruments right away; would be awesome if they picked up drums right away.

As for playing, no, I don’t play drums. I’m fairly terrible at guitar, and in a fantasy world where I have more time and less stress, I’d have a small e-drum set in my office to fuck around on so I can make noise in new and creative ways beyond hacking away at Tool songs on guitar

Yea, it’s hard breaking a routine I’d gotten so used to, my dog, relationship, friends, etc., but sometimes you have to force yourself out of your comfort zone. I’m looking at all the old growth forests I can go explore out there. The one below is only an hour from town.

I should also be well set up making 1500 a paycheque after taxes, with my rent only being $340 a month and being able to bike to work most days. Maybe I’ll get a winter beater to bomb around in idk.

My truck is actually back in Arkansas with a new rack and pinion/tcase/gearbox seals. I’ll go back and pick it up over thanksgiving with the rest of my stuff. I might have my mechanic do the control arms and upper ball joints while it’s there.

 

I'll take a pineapple and hame any day over this.

Dude I've been eyeballing the hell out of those electric drum sets online.

Late night doomscrolling has me one or two clicks away from buying a set

He has a toy drum set he'll bash, so that's encouraging. And my wife doesn't know it, but I'll definitely get him one of those fancy electric sets too once he's like 2 1/2 or so

I wish I got into playing any instruments though. My dad is a beast on guitar, and he always wanted me to learn but I never did

Might have to get him a guitar too. Try everything out ya know?

Lufthansa is the main one that ordered the -800s for passenger routes. If I had a spare 10 grand lying around, I’d book a first class flight on one to get a cabin in the nose of the plane.
