We used to have a guy who replaced ballasts almost exclusively when I was at UMO. He refused to clean up a fixture. He’d pull out the ballast, cut the wire off at the ballast, and wire the new one in without trimming wire off the new one. I took apart a 4 lamp fixture once I bet it had 30’ of wire in it.

I hopefully will last longer then that, Unkie Sam then 38 1/2 years working for a utility on the gas side. It was time to retire before I ended up hobbling into obscurity.

yeah, i'm learning that lesson from my uncle. he ran an independent garage door business for his career. now he just retired a few years ago, but 40+ years of hoisting and moving heavy garage door panels by himself took a massive toll on his body. he really just sits at his tv and watches youtube, or the grand kids play anymore. retirement isn't much when he's all worn out to get there...

i'm trying to learn from his mistakes, and work a lot smarter with not jumping out off semi trucks--as easy as it is, and just plain taking the extra steps to using actuated lifting equipment instead of 'just doing it' and hurting myself in the process.

It definitely wasn’t as malleable as it looks. More room, the better.

Some of you might remember my pull up station I built in the back yard earlier this year. Winter is here and it's not always OK to go outside and do it. So here is the cheapest solution I could make. 30$ for the pipe. Keeps the rain and snow off me haha. 20241102_151131.jpg
It ain't pretty but it works( a usual standard) :anonymous:

Did you slap it and proudly proclaim "that ain't goin nowhere!"?

    Then it will be fine.

I've done that on some really sketchy scrap runs. Never lost a piece yet.

It's bolted so it won't spin, held center in the ladder rung. It's good I think
