TG those conductors were installed straight up in the building’s center so no chance for tampering but I did see/smell the aftermath of a failed transformer ground wire theft attempt. The Fire Dept. used a shovel but pretty sure most of him was vaporized.

 

A friends brother works in a steel fabrication plant.

They receive steel stock in coil form and frequently the trucks that deliver said stock sit unattended in the lot over weekends.
Similar to these:



Two scummer/thieving/septic tank of the earth scrapper dudes noticed the coil stock was about 4 wide -- and would fit in the bed of a 1/2 ton Chev pickup...

So our two bottom dwelling geniuses slipped in on a Saturday night, removed the straps holding the coil and gave it a push to gently roll it off the trailer and into the bed of the Chev...



Apparently they never considered that things like coil stock are delivered with semi trucks with only a few rolls on the trailer for a reason...

Employees found the truck right there Monday morning -- completely destroyed by a rolling, falling coil of steel weighing somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 tons...


Unfortunately Darwin didn't prevail on this one and the owner of the truck and his equally low life compatriot still are spreading their particular kind of disease around the earth...

that sent me down a rabbit hole... i know those coils are crazy heavy...





my dad was working on re-outfitting a facility for a new purpose/owner/business near a steel mill a year or two ago, the mill was set back from the main road by a long farm road connecting to the interstate road. one day, he came up on the farm/interstate instersection, and there was a steel coil laying in the ditch with no one around. apparently someone forgot to strap their load, and it rolled right off when the guy stopped at the intersection...

second steel mill story-- i live near what used to be US steel in gary(i think it's 'Cliffs' now). so in general living, i come across lots of current and former employee's of the facility. they've got the really big dump trucks to deal with running coal and slag through the plant--the official rule is that US Steel equipment has right of way at all times.

at one point, a guy was late for something, and ignored the right of way rules. him and his full size silverado ended up going across the path of one of the fully loaded dump trucks. the dump truck ran the pickup over just behind the drivers seat, and didn't even notice. it wasn't until the guy got out of his road-killed and pancaked silverado and came running/screaming up to someone else with a radio that the guy found out something crossed his path...

 

My dad made his post retirement living pounding out copper to make trees and plants. Then sold them at the Oregon State Fair

 

Picked up the leaves today with the lawn vac. My side yard connects with my neighbors front yard. Elderly couple so I just went straight across and did their yard too. Saw them struggling to rake it last year.

 

I prefer copper mixed with zinc.

From 1945, maybe it popped off a few shells towards the Japanese during WW2.

Oh heck man.. just use a cordless drill and perhaps a stationary vice

 

Well blew a hydraulic cylinder on my tractor grapple, got the rebuild kit sent , tried to go buy 2 but none of the stores had 2, so we wait

 

Hope you got ‘er shutdown before coating everything in oil.
