Got to buy a battery for a Case 485, NAPA batteries still good quality or should I look elsewhere?

I’ve been running napa batteries in my cars and boats for the past 6 years or so and they’ve been uneventful which is good.

Oh and they took one back that I ended up not using after a year of sitting in the garage. Pretty nice of them.

Napa batteries are good, shortest time I've gotten is 4 years. Granted I have been switching over to Interstate cause I can grab it while I'm at Costco.
Honestly unless you buy a low quality super cheep battery your usually going to get roughly the same quality regardless of brand. Of course for specialty high usage vehicles the fancy extra high end batteries are worth it.

NAPA batteries are made in Pennsylvania by East Penn Manufacturing (DEKA) :oldglory:

My comment was gonna be that Deka makes Napa batteries in my area. ...
Glad to see that someone else has that same info in another area.

As far as batteries go? Cheap battery's are just that.
If its just trade bait? Sure throw an RK battery in it & move on.
If its something my wife or kids drive? Yeah I put a good battery in it. Just like tires & brakes... Never chince on something when it takes care of your loved ones.

My farm equipment? Well it takes care of me.... Optima's in my excavator & my tractors.

Good morning everyone, back to the pressure washing line today. Let's see what the genius has come up with again to slow things down this past weekend.
Hope everyone has a good and safe day today.

Man I must be the only one who has had issues with NAPA batteries lol. But most were bought in that 2021 era. But we have had three of them all fail within 2-3 years. Not sure if it's the cold that really gets them in (sub 0 degrees ) or just bad luck. But compared to the die hard and oreilys ones the napa just didn't last but prior to those three, napa legends were my go to choice.

Yea I haven't had luck with them. Had one in a 2000 Avalon that crapped out before a year. Didn't even bother warrantying it. Also known folks who had similar experiences. Now, this was in Mississippi so the manufacturer may have been different.

Yea we don’t get sub zero Fahrenheit very often at all here in the lowlands. That could be it.

Maybe. I was just disappointed since they were my go to replacement batteries forever. Maybe Ill try another one now but compared to other "mid range basic" batteries they havent held up.

I still recommend them to people though lol.

I’m also in sub-zero territory in the northeast although not too often. I have gone with Interstate via Costco for my last few batteries and have been happy. Good pricing and they seem to make a good battery so I can’t complain.

I will mention to avoid the Die Hard you get at Advance. I had one that would not keep a charge well and the one that's currently in a VW has issues despite a good charging system.

Appears they Die Hard and leave you up :anonymous:

I was on another forum, maybe a Land Rover one when we had our Discovery? Anyway this subject came up and a poster stated he worked at a battery plant. He stated the batteries would come off the main line, then be diverted down four or five different lines to have different companies labels put on them and then be sent off to shipping.

Thankfully, it was the choke cable.

    ------Rant------

    Choke "cable" was too much.
So they resorted to using a singe "wire". o_O

I'm not a smart guy by any means.
But anytime you bend a single wire repeatedly, seems like metal fatigue might be an issue. ----It was----

    I think I would have used a multi-strand cable.

It broke clean off in the "90" bend.

    ------Rant over------
