I am selling a front air dam from a '24 Tacoma. This is a serious performance part that was designed by Toyota's Racing Development Team. It was designed in the wind tunnel and is constructed from a space age polymer - not to be confused with some cheap piece of Asian plastic.

Turn your truck into a modern freeway flyer! Pass all of those clunky off-road trucks that are struggling to maintain the speed limit, or are parked at the gas station for the next fill up!

This modern design will reduce your coefficient of friction and you will slip through the air like a Formula 1 racer! And the lower wind resistance is guaranteed to increase gas mileage substantially!

Buy it now and I will throw in a lightweight, sound deadening, felt covered skid plate that will protect your engine and undercarriage from damaging dust, pollen and leaves.

All this for $5. Price is firm. I will even pay for shipping! :)

Hmm. No photos? And price is firm? I guess you're one of those 'I know what I have' guys.

Yup, better luck selling it, advertising it as a "snowplow".
For those that get that white stuff on the ground, winter is just around the corner...

I may be in the minority but I like the look of the dam. Not sure how long it will last crawling but I'll deal with it then. I wouldn't mind picking up a cheap one as a spare just in case LOL

No, this air dam is specifically designed for racing tucks with 4-cylinder engines and turbos. And felt lined wheel wells...

Yes, a truck will be provided only if the buyer pays the FULL asking price.

Oh, I would say that you definitely are in the minority!!

On a serious note, my only problem is how low it hangs down. It looks like it will get hung up on a parking curb! Also, I did NOT like the unfinished look at the corners where the felt well liners ended, so I trimmed mine down to about an inch and reinstalled...

And here is the middle part - trimmed down to an inch and reinstalled...

Just so you guys know, MSRP on one of these air dams is over $800 for some reason. I work at a dealership in parts and we pulled one up just out of curiosity since so many people throw them away. Part numbers 76851-AK010 and 76851-AK020 $780-810

Wow. But how may have you actually sold? My guess is it's just for the body shops.

We haven't sold a single one over the counter, haven't even sold one to a body shop yet. Only a matter of time though. Body shops/insurance will def be the only ones actually buying/paying for them.

I think my asking price of $5 is more in line with reality...

Does the dam have an actual functional purpose?

Supposedly, it is for better aerodynamics and gas milage. Of course, the Off Road, Pro and Trail Hunter models do not have it, so removing it automatically makes your truck appear more off roady! :) Addition by subtraction as they say...

Oh, and you probably also know that removing the dam can create a whistling/howling noise from (4) 3/4" holes on the underside of each lower control arm. These holes are plugged on the models that do not have the dam.

I like to think that the Toyota engineers created these whistling flute holes to alert deer, moose and other woodland creatures of oncoming traffic. Because the last thing you want to do when driving to your hunting lodge is to harm innocent wildlife!

Does the 4th gen not have a steel skid plate on there? Does it come stock with the felt skid plate or is that aftermarket?
