Painting the knuckle?

I just replaced most of my front end - control arms, ball joints, tie-rods, CV joints.
Now my knuckle looks like crap in comparison to the new parts.


What's the easiest & best way to paint them? I'm not willing to put much work in. I want to wire brush and spray.

 

I wouldn't bother painting them, they will look like that again in a couple years. Just get some black fluid film and spray them down once a year or so.

knock the loose surface rust off with wire brush or wire wheel on a grinder.

Apply Rust Mort with an acid brush and let is sit for a day, re-apply. Then pain away.

A pint will last a lifetime.

What other colors are available? One of those might be more interesting than plain 'ole black.

 

Only "regular" which is more of an transparent amber snot colored substance. But at the thickness you normally apply it it just looks like you sprayed motor oil on. The black has a dye added to it so that its opaque and looks like freshly painted gloss black. Basically masks the rust until it wears/washes off.

 

I wire-brushed mine and applied Rustoleum primer and two coats of their Satin Black with a couple of disposable foam brushes. They came out nice: no brush marks and it has lasted 2+ years so far.
