Sliders-I went with bolt on, new vehicle and didn't want to make permanent mods. Now a few years in, I am also wondering about the possible rust between the sliders and frame, I wanted to take them off this past year, but the want wasn't strong enough. Now, I'd go weld as then I wouldn't worry about the possible rust. I did spray woolwax between the plate and frame when i put them on.

    To echo and add:

It could be pretty thin. Maybe you don't want the full cattle guard, in which case, 8-900ish is pretty good. But do you see yourself in 2-3 years wanting a full bumper instead of just the gooch bumper?

My only negative would be - with how much time you spend on FSR level stuff vs "wheeling" wheeling - is it worth the weight and drawbacks of a bumper and winch? And I say this as someone in the same boat - that's why I'm still on stock suspension and (ish) wheels for the time being - I don't see myself "wheeling" wheeling to the level of wanting 33/35s, or winches, within the next 18 months (I will not be doing 3 bears in my truck again in that time :D ) If you want to use it for wheeling more, or know that and still want to do it anyway, more power to ya!

Naw, not wheeling with the big boys regularly, the winch is more if I get myself in a mess (which would be more likely if I had it). I don’t want a full bumper, the winch is basically why I’d get a bumper at this point. My suspension was bought with the expectation of adding some weight.

that being said, it’s not my favorite looking one I have seen.

What I learned from Matt is you dont get stuck unless you have a winch.

This is (was) actually going the other way up from that rock. That trail is now gone.

Just checked the 4X website. The sliders are on sale if you get the HREW. I want the DOM.

I plan on it. Did some research and it seems to be much stronger. I hate buying something and then saying to myself, "I should've bought the other one."

It’s stronger so it “slides” over rocks better.
