Im running the Phoenix JS7 ROM JK4 Modem and Speedmod Kernal. Has 5 lock screen choices. The ROM is an i9000 ROM reoriented to work on the Captivate. running 2.2.1 Froyo. 2.3 is being beta tested now for the Captivate

XDA Developers is a fantastic forum for serious Android users and those who love to flash new ROMS and try different kernel and modem combinations and really customize their experience beyond what the Captivate offers

Even the "official" AATT download is terrible when compared t what those developers have cooked up. I would not run the official 2.2 at all.

    This thread needs more action.

If anyone cares, easyroot still worked on my telus 2.2 moto milestone.

Which leads me to this fantastic app that made my phone new again:

    Milestone Overclock - http://www.appbrain.com/app/milestone-overclock/pt.com.darksun.milestoneoverclock

Enables overclocking without flashing new roms or kernels on phones with TI OMAP3xxx processors like Motorola Milestone 1/2, Droid 1/2/X, XT*, Defy, Flipout, Samsung Galaxy A/Beam and Archos A70/A101.

*REQUIRES ROOT* and *STOCK (DEFAULT) ROM*

If you wish to donate, please visit the project site. Thanks.

    Recent changes:
    - Support Motorola Milestone with official Froyo (2.2.1) rom
    - Temporarily disabled stats lookup because of reboots

Latest version: 1.4.8 (for all Android versions)

Also came across this slick little ditty:
    PlayerPro (trial-free)($4.82cdn)- http://www.appbrain.com/app/playerpro-trial/com.tbig.playerprotrial

Too much features to post, just click the link. It was the first one to automatically download all album covers, band photos, lyrics. You can also quickly and easily choose a different album cover or band photo). Also has an optional eq

I like tapatalk which I'm using now and the nintendo emulator for motorola xoom.
What I really like about tapatalk the voice control which am also using now to type this.

I love old school nintendo games and it drives with a wii remote control. Nesoid and wiimote. Pretty fun.

If you're running Android 2.2+, unless there are VERY specific applications that you are having to terminate, you should let the Android task manager take care of any applications as it was VASTLY improved with Froyo.

Many, many applications will continue to relaunch themselves and ATK will continue to block them... Draining the battery MUCH faster than having just let them do their thing!

On 2.1, it was almost a necessity. Since Froyo, it's simply not needed!
