So I was watching a Talon SEI video and he had just installed this unit in his new Taco so I went to the website to check it out. It is a shelf unit for your back seat without doing a rear seat delete. I like the idea of the seats remaining in place for ease of using them later and the sound deadening that they provide. The KARGA unit is removable in about 3 to 5 minutes with the seats available for use. It hooks into the child restraint anchors and sits on the floor on one side.

I liked the unit with good quality materials and a smart system to secure it in the truck. Bad things are the instructions which are a little confusing at first but I figured it out once reading it several times. The other item is I felt that there were bolts that were close to the seat that might cause damage to the fabric. I put some rubber protectors on the screw ends to keep the damage from happening. Below are the pics that I took.

NOT trying to be a smartass or anything, but it doesn't cost anything to flip the seat bottom up/forward and you then have a 'flat' surface to use.

    This and that
Interesting concept. I have so much shit behind my back seat because I removed all the panels back there. It seems it would be a pain in the ass to move to get back there.

Some of the wording sounds like an off-shore sales rep trying to sell their product

I build my own that attaches to the bottom 40% seat bolts so that way it can flip up to get access underneath and is the same height as the 60% seat when folded down so my platform can fit across the whole backseat. It takes about 10 minutes to put the oem seat back in, but I have never used that seat so it's not a big deal for me to have it out.

Some might think Washington state is off-shore. No skin in this game, just trying to share something different than the rear seat delete stuff.

    Nah, you're just hearing "Idaho".

Molding done here, extrusions made in California, systems assembled and packed by me, in Idaho. Not much off-shore content for sure.

Not taking your comment as smart ass, we're just trying to offer something different, and to a broader market. I've been flipping the seats for years, but wanted more surface since my dog takes up the 60% side, so having a second level makes a big difference for me. Also seems like a lot of the new trucks (Tacos included now) don't have the flip down backs, so getting a flat surface in there is harder.

Thanks! Trying hard to make quality products for quality people using US companies. Not protectionist, but I've spent my life in US manufacturing and would like to keep it here.

I'll PM you about the language that makes it seem 'offshore'. Love to get anything like that out of the way.

    It's just well thought out!

The off shore comment was specific to a one-liner made by the OP lol not the product itself.

There are quite a number of ways where people have made their own shelf for cargo management and more. I love making my own stuff for sure but I seem to be allergic to wood working

Someone like myself would see value in something like this for sure.

    Got it, thanks!

Yeah, I made a ton of different versions before getting to this one. My son has my first gen now, and it doesn't really fold flat because the seat backs just flip forward. We put one of these in his and it makes things easier for him, keeping camp and other gear in the cab but still able to carry one passenger in the back.

Love seeing all the ways people solve how to carry things in our tiny trucks. Super fun.

We definitely could have used something like this during our 9 month cross country trip. We like keeping our 60% back seat in just in case we ever need to take another passenger or two since our fridge is on the 40% side. But we used that space to store all our pantry stuff, books, and tupperware, which ended up in 4 milk crates, 2 high and 2 deep, sitting on top of the seat (so we could use the floor space for shoes). I raged pretty much every time I had to go look for something in the bottom levels.

Our new 90 lb dog takes priority over that space now, but definitely see the utility in something like this!

My truck is loaded with tools right now so I can't get a good pic of it. But it literally uses the oem seat hinges and seat bolts. On the wood platform I put some T-Nuts on topside so I can just thread the factory bolts into the platform from the bottom.

Here is the video I used for inspiration for my build.

Real world costs mate. USA made is not cheap, we've been conditioned to made in China pricing.
