My VQ30 EGR code problem turned out to be a rotten vacuum line. I'm sure I replaced them 10 years ago when I refreshed the fuel system. It must have been some Advance Auto line of unknown purpose. I do have some new silicone lines that may work. I should change the fuel filter since it is now easy to reach.

One good thing about working on this generation Maxima, I can disconnect the hood lift supports and stand the hood almost straight up like an older Mercedes. However, I need to use a support pole and do it away from the wind or the hood will flip backwards.

Tractor supply here is good for that

You'll go to a store like Ace, and they've got fasteners at almost $3/ea for a metric bolt in M12

Then you go to TA and they're selling their hardware by weight

I never pay attention. I just go into the parts house and ask for things by the 100 and leave

I hate that I get the itch to get a car about every year or so. Apparently Toyota is trying to clear some inventory as you can lease a 2024 4x4 SR5 for $299/mo with $2500 down. Which is the same as a 2024 Prius. Seems like pretty good deals considering how expensive things seem to be for new cars.

yes it's pretty significant savings for purchases between "I need one" and "I need a box of 100"

    That's cheap!

Since you're in a new state, any idea what taxes per month would be on that lease?

Probably has a pretty high residual too for that low payment.

I tried looking into one of those deals a few years ago, I think it was the same $299/mo but for a 2021 or so model back then.
I went in to the dealer just to see exactly how it would actually play out with an OTD price, and they just completely ignored the promotional rate and just used standard lease rates and it was going to be like $500+/mo. I probably didn't push hard enough for them to actually give me the advertised rate, but fuck the games the dealers play.

    That's really odd

You sure you were inquiring about a lease?

I've known people from different Toyota dealers all over (on the finance side) and about all of them have a good +90% of their business being captured by Toyota Financial Services. I mean, they'll even lease a first-time buyer with a 650 credit score..they're THAT aggressive.

Whereas lenders like US Bank require a 730+ to be a tier 1 (with extensive purchase history) and other banks like Alphera (BMW Financial Services) will flat out decline you if you don't have specific credit history even if you have a great score.

So that "promotional" rate wouldn't hurt the dealership at all because it would be offered by TFS, which is their captive anyway.

I would guess they didn't have the specific vehicle you inquired about since residuals will change based on the model and trim level; some trim levels will have as much as an additional 1-2% residual for the same term and mileage.

And then your rate, or money factor, would be the same but would equate to different payment amounts all based on the MSRP of the vehicle you're leasing.

Yeah it must be to move the 2024 off the lots and make way for 2025s
That's odd, I got the promotion and then a little extra on my 2019 Corolla. Got a written offer at the promotion rate by one dealership, then drove to the other dealership and said if you beat this I'll lease it today. Worked like a charm. Curiosity has me interested to at least maybe go test drive the new Tacoma and Prius. Don't have a place to park another vehicle but I am curious about them.

    That and flooring costs!

After 90 days, they're paying to keep them on the lot so it's better to push out existing inventory for cheap for the new models like you said.

I'm betting the best deals will be had - on the last days of this month, and the very last days of next month.

This way they can hit their numbers as many dealers are crazy aggressive towards the end of the year in general even though most of their business is comprised of business owners trying to get one final write off on the books.

I bet if you revisit them at the end of the month, you'll get a crazy deal.

yup, and my aftercooler/gravity trap combo definitely works pretty well compared to just off the shelf traps.

as it is I run the chinese consumables now and don't run the machine enough for a $600 dryer setup to have payback...

I am taking some time off in a couple weeks and have a full sopping cart for Materials, need to decide on steel (would weld it) or Aluminum(would bolt it) for Chassis Table + primary stanchions for the jigs

Youre probably right that it could be sweeter by the end of the month, maybe less down or they'll add other incentives. I don't have the option for a third car right now and the green truck is only going if insurance is writing a check. I guess we will have to see if my truck survived the crazies here once the snow flies.

It'll give me something to do this weekend lol
