    hey guys,

i commute a lot and since this is my first vehicle i actually care about, i was wondering if anyone had tips for ensuring my truck lives a long time! i change the oil as recommended and i try to use premium as often as i can afford it. I stick to the recommendations in the manual for upkeep. any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yeah I pretty much do what you do. Do my oil changes on time and stick with that maintenance book that came with the truck. Not sure what else we really can do!?!?:D

My 05 has 103,000 miles and still as strong as the day I got it. I change the oil every 5,000 miles. I run 87 octane & dump fuel injector cleaner in every 6 months. K&N air filter, cleaned at 50k miles. New plugs at 85k miles. So no need to worry. No major problems with mine.

Use synthetic fluids and make sure you do the routine maintenence. Stay on top of things and take care of minor issues before they become major problems. My 96 regular cab 2.7 5 speed had 327,800 miles on it when Toyota bought it back and was still running like a champ.
