You da man. I was gonna go for the 110a (Edit 105a, one in that thread as well.) Denso from a Suzuki XL-7 i think it was, as all the modification it required was drilling out a mounting hole as well. I'll take a look.

Yeah, that's the one I was running for the longest time, it finally gave up the ghost on me. Also needs the hole drilled though

I was in the interim... it doesn't like my new efan conversion though with headlights and heater blower on. Turns out you can use 70a up real fast when the fan takes 19.5 and fuel pump takes 10... and two headlights is 20... plus whatever else EFI running takes (at least 6a for the Wideband O2 heater)

I'll let you know if this one is legit, the region of the US it is coming from tells me it most likely is though

Th oldest fridge i worked on was from the 50s you remember that seen from Indiana Jones when he climbed inside of a fridge before the bomb went off. It was the same kind of fridge.

Damn, Big draw for a fan...

Looks to be reputable and fairly priced. Curious if itll show up with Denso 021080-0140 on it too rather than the other part # you mentioned.

Either one is fine, they're cross ref parts just hope it is a legit Denso. Local tractor place here wanted $550 because he can only get it as a John Deere OEM part

Fan draw is pretty common for fans that actually work (OE fans) aftermarket ones are weak and I wouldn't use em

I don't remember the fridge itself, but I remember my mom talking about her dad having an International Harvester refrigerator. I think he was still using it until 2011 when they downsized and sold everything at auction. An IH fridge must have been from the 50s or thereabouts.

Wonder if anyone's got an old one still running here, those that latched closed so you couldn't open it from the inside if you were ever trapped :bananadead:

They just don't quit. I live in an older, small town and will sometimes see one pop up locally for sale for super cheap.

And like you said, still running!

Can't imagine way back when, when the fear of dying in a fridge was real.

At one of my great grandparents house in the garage is still a old ice box, you can load the ice in from the outside and get your groceries from the inside

My fam had one in the garage when I as a kid. Never occurred to me that you could get trapped in it. We gave it to a friend of mine when I was in high school. Honestly not sure if it still worked then--I don't remember ever actually using it.

Are there drawbacks to running a higher-amperage-than-stock alt?

Does the 3RZ use the same alt as the 5VZ (or in other words, could I also use the John Deer alt?)

You probably could yeah, yours you wouldn't have to drill out the hole we were talking about since the 3RZ mount uses that threaded hole as designed. I haven't tried it but dimensionally it is super similar to the Jag alt and that one fits both engines to my knowledge. Also no, I've been putting the 120a Jag alt on 2/3RZ engines for years without any downsides.
