Class Action Lawsuit for Transmissions

The tsb is completely useless for the bunch of us with garbage shifting transmissions

 

I mean yeah that sucks. my truck has an affected VIN but is working fine for now, although I'd much rather have a new one than a time bomb.

 

Maybe everyone can get a $75-200 check 5 years down the line like I did because of the Takata airbag fiasco and VAG fudging the fuel emissions.

 

Isn't this just the hilux trans thats already been in use internationally? So just some assembly BS going on cheaping out on labor quality control at Asin ?

 

I dont think the current Hilux has an 8spd

 

Maybe I’m thinking the lexus RX they have had the Aisin AW F8 F45 and other brands of vehicles for years. Isn't that the one the new Tacos have?

 

I'm starting to think that the 3rd Gen really is the last of the real Tacoma's.

i got a check 3 times for that class action, the first of which was a year after i already got rid of the affected vehicle. i guess they had leftover money and not enough claimants or something - i received over $600 in total.

 

Yeah but this is different. This isn't just a few loud mouth whining, sniveling, malcontents.

 

Kudo's to Abdul Syed for taking on Toyota, especially with a $50K+ vehicle. I took on Toyota (in small claims court) on my 2007 Taco OEM mudflaps, after the dealer and Toyota told me to go fly a kite. In short, i showed up to court and the appointed attorney (for small claims that reviews all the cases before going to the judge) told me I didn't have a case, out of warranty and i was going to lose. Well, i told him i did. Presented my case, facts, and justification. Toyota shows up with an Engineer and someone from Legal. Won my case and Toyota paid my repair bill. Kinda proud of myself. And saved all my documents - going in my time capsule.

 

You took Toyota to small claims over mudflaps?

 

Yep, for the damage they caused.

 

lol he’s likely going off the class action for the UA80 series… a totally different transmission that also happens to be an 8 speed. Probably just saw “8-speed” and “class action” did the Leo DiCaprio point and contacted a lawyer.

 

Yeah the 5G forum now we will have a forum thread on removing the warning labels off mud flaps.

 

I HOPE THIS FORCES TOYOTA TO PULL MANUFACTURE FROM MEXICO AND TAKE IT ALL BACK TO HOME JAPAN WHERE BUILD IS GOOD!

 

The transmission is made in Japan…

 

not major powertrain, and the transmission complaints were software related not mechanical failure

 

Yeah, I was referring to the fact ours have shifted funny since 2016.
