just a couple of things tbh
okay just making sure haha i do agree i wish honda would come out with something but they dont? no idea why...

agreed they are amazing i think if i was going to go with one id get a 701 for more power and a more drz feel but then again its a shit load of money!
the new drz i like the look minus that awful headlight lol but that can be changed! ive been excited for a new drz for awhile but it just feels like a slap in the face a bit? like oh you want all this!!!? yes! well you only get this and some slight improvements oh ya and more weight and a bit less power! so that part kinda sucks... hopefully with a tune it can open the bike up a bit more and make it more worth it after a year or so! until then ill have no supermoto in my life sadly! i do agree on the little klx tbh i have the 300r and its a great enduro bike and lots of fun but as a supermoto? i feel it would be really boring since it doesnt have a load of power to it...

unless i find a dirt cheap older sm lol.

thats a pretty exaggerated statement for the 500 bikes which are typically the ones converted. i read quite frequently of them going 500 hours without crazy maintenance.

Honda is really cautious about cannibalizing sales within their own line. If it could possibly detract from an existing model they won't make it. That, or they will make it but leave off features that keep it from competing.

The TransAlp is a prime example. Great bike by all accounts, but missing cruise control on a platform that screams for it. Why? So they don't cut the throat of the Africa Twin by offering all the touring somebody realistically needs in a package that costs 20-30% less than the flagship.

Same thing here. They have the CRF 250 and 350 plus rallies of each. They don't want to threaten those internally in that CC range. If they put out a light weight super moto with more than a 350 they'd probably bite into the CB500 lineup, and those 3 bikes are easy money for them.

This was down in the comments, sounds like it was announced prior to and no new information from EICMA?

Been a crazy wed into Thursday. It's been SUUUUPER dry and somewhat windy for the last week/week n a half. Tuesday into Wednesday saw gnarly HIGH winds (40+ continuous gusts probably near 80) ended up having a fire break out near me yesterday morning. Luckily I was sent home from work at 830am cus the power was out (and didn't have work today cus no power), but it was a restless night making sure winds didn't shift and send the fire to me. ("Mountain fire" here in socal).

Things calmed down this morning and I charged up the RC boat and mini RC crawler and went on a moto ride. It was beautiful at the beach! The RC boat in the ocean is always a hoot but the new to me lil Redcat Ascent 18 is going to be coming along as well from here on out! So much fun running both at the beach.

Brother got his license a few months ago and has been riding our KLX250 (wasn't being used otherwise) but it was pretty limiting on range and power (being able to keep up with me or getting on the interstate).
So naturally 2 days after we decided we're going to start "looking" we came home with a 7600-mile 2004 SV650 for $2,200! Nearly perfect bike aside from 1 right side drop.. small dent in the tank and a slightly pushed peg, no big deal! He absolutely loves it so far, definitely a solid investment!

If you're not already on FJRiders.com seems to be where most of the folks migrated to over the past several years. I'm active on 3 FJR forums and that's the one I'm most active on myself at this point.

He's dumped so much into it over the years, and then never rides. I have stopped asking him to ride when I go out. Its very nice and I think it only has like 8 or 9k on it.

I'm not an SM rider, so take this within the context of an enduro/dual sport/single track rider. I've owned a Drz 400, put money into it i.e. Yoshi pipe, the works. Now a 701 owner. If you can find a used 701, which is what I did, you will be much happier as it superior to the Suzuki in my opinion and worth it. If it is out of budget buy the drz and still have fun, save for the 701 later.

ive had a drz just a green one and spent a lot of monies on it lol road it for 3-4 years something like that and sold it for a klx300r enduro to do more trails.

i would love a 701 but for a brand new one sitting at what 13k? its a hard pill to swallow when i have other bikes id also like to buy for less or around the same price tag. or hell even a small camper for me and the gf lol. a used one is what id go for but the prices out here from what ive seen are still a bit crazy for high mile ones sitting at close to 10k miles at 8-9k but i also havent looked in a hot min so idk if the price has gone down...

also as much as id love a bike thats just for me to ride atm i cant do that since me and the gf are always out on the cruiser so until she gets her own bike i wont buy a bike that only i can ride on.
