They moved dad yesterday afternoon to the step down unit, one level lower than ICU. He is okay but looks rough. Both arms are blue and his legs as well from all the blood. His left hand was swelled up and he had ice on it. They had him on one bag of fluid instead of 4 and still giving him blood thinner for the clots in his legs.

Mom said he'd been short of breath for about a week.

She also took him Monday for a PET scan and got the results back Weds afternoon and it stated "acute pulmonary embolism" which should have been caught earlier and he wouldn't have had to ride in the ambulance unconscious Tuesday afternoon

Thankful he's still with us

Glad you're old man is hanging in there. Those pulmonary embolisms are nothing to take lightly.

We've been operating short handed by about 7 guys over the last year and just scraping by. It's frustrating but one of those above my pay grade deals. I don't get paid to worry about those kind of problems. Clock in, contribute, clock out. Leave it there.

Me and my old man are headed to Orlando Speed World tomorrow for World Street Nationals, looking forward to it. Love the smell of methanol in the morning.

Yeah I need more to mow.
We're just buying this so whoever buys the house on the other side of it has some space from the riffraff. We being the riffraff.

 

Boss ask me if I could drill, tap, and put a thread insert in each leg on these chairs cause somehow they are all stripped. 20 of them. I said yeah, I'll figure out a way to hold them so they're straight and centered cause I ain't doing it by hand.

I'm going to use an end mill as a drill since some are off centered and some have a bolt broke in them.

 

We have our internet at home with Brightspeed, they are trying to charge us a late fee for payment.

We've been enrolled in auto pay for over a year

Wife is on the phone with them

 

They had a glitch in their system and just decided to take extra money out of our checking.

What about the people who don't have any extra, you just think you can take it out because of your mistake? UGH!!!

 

Brightspeed just installed internet in our neighborhood and everyone is ditching Spectrum. We may be the only ones staying with Spectrum.

 

Years ago we had a mortgage with Countrywide. Young and stupid, found out a couple years later we had a HELOC with it. Tried to cancel and they said it would be $300

Dug through the paperwork and found it, I could cancel in 5 years without paying.

5 years and a day, I called. Spoke w the frontline staff, “no, you got to pay $300”. I politely asked for the Stupidvisor.

“No, you need to pay $300”. I asked him to pull up my paperwork. Directed to the page and paragraph and asked again to close it out.

“Oh, we keep them open as a courtesy.”

Thanks but no thanks. Please send me confirmation it had been closed.

I got it about a month later.

Did my free credit check at the end of the year and found they dinged me for a late payment on that account. All three bureaus showed it.

I had to call all three to ask how could I be late if I never drew from it? All three removed it.

My subsequent claims of predatory lending when to deaf ears..

Then there’s KeyBank who told me they don’t typically send vehicle titles when the loans paid off, “you’ll have to go to your DMV to get a duplicate.” Stupidvisor please. Got my title a week or so later.

Good for you @six5crèéd and your wife for taking this on . Corporate America is a bunch of weasels…

 

We live in the sticks and Brightspeed was our only option, unless we want to go Starlink

We don't need anything more than we have with Britghspeed.

 

I thought about you all today! I do not tip at fast food places, however, at a go in and sit down restaurant I most certainly will. Excellent food and service! I’d like to go back for breakfast tomorrow…
