Thanks for reaching out. I found this and am pretty satisfied.

Was just curious if anyone was doing a waterproof gland through the shark fin at top of the roof or not? Also thinking about routing wiring up the rear slider window since mine is mostly hidden by the camper.

I have been running my @Baja Designs for 4 months now as replacement fogs and they just stopped working. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? I am using their wiring harness to connect to my stock harness.

With or without the S8 under the 4 LP6? The center 2 LP6 will be White but I don't have them yet so they're just photoshopped on for now.

Pro grill will be replaced with a TRD OR one from 2020 models due to the extra snout of the Pro grill, TRD OR grille is flush with the grill trim/surround so the lights will be able to sit further back behind or flush with the tube and the higher position of the TSS will allow me to push the 2 center lights closer together.

And dont worry about the funniness on the roof, I'm thinking of removing the Prinsu rack now that the 40" ONX6+ isnt up there anymore.

    Hey @TRDMobile4x4,

First off thanks for being a support of Baja Designs! I would recommend checking all connection/ grounds if you haven't all ready. A bench test could be a solution as well to see if its a harness issue or the lights. If you have done both of these already shoot me a PM and I can help get you going with a warranty!

    Best,
    Bill

I'm planning on running 2X pairs of XL80 amber spot pods, 1X pair of S2 Pro amber spot and a 30 inch OnX6+ amber driving/combo light bar with the plan idea of wiring each pair of lights and the light bar to 4 switches on a SwitchPro. The question I have is what is the best method to have all 3X pairs of lights and the light bar wired on one dedicated switch by itself not to the SwitchPro for the backlight/dimmed function?

For better clarification I want the SwitchPro switches to control the full power on/off function of the 3X pairs of lights and light bar individually and one standalone switch not on the SwitchPro to turn on/off the backlight for all 3X pairs of lights and the light bar at the same time.

This light setup is planned for a C4 Fabrication front hybrid bumper.

    Bill @Baja Designs,

Can I run a driving/combo lens on a Racer Series Squadron? Would that give a little more throw while still keeping some spread? If you have a comparison or if anyone else has done this, input would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA

I could be wrong but backlight and dimmed function are not one in the same. I don't believe any of the lights you mentioned have a backlight function like the LP6 and LP9. But with the SwitchPro you can control a dim function. If you want to use the high/low function on the ONX6 you would need the appropriate Uplifter wire harness. At least this is my understanding.

While it will work, it won't be as effective as a light designed with LEDs that are meant for close range. The Racer LED is designed to deliver a focused beam pattern for maximum distance, so the Spot lens is the most ideal choice.

    Couple questions -

    1. Has anyone ran the S2’s in a vertical orientation? I’d like to run 2 to 4 S2 pros like that in between the partitions in the grill of my 1st Gen with either driving combo in the middle and wide cornering on the outside or spots in the middle and driving combo on the outsides.

FWIW a pair of squadron sports are enough for me in my daily when off-roading and I’ll have a removable light mount on my bumper with Squadron Pros for long / remote trips.

    2. Is anyone interested in trading a set of S2 clear wide cornering lenses for spots or driving combo? Or even one clear wide cornering for an amber wide cornering? Thinking of using one for a dust light and one for a reverse light as well. My lenses are brand new.

They'll absolutely "go" there if you mount them there, but you just won't get the usability out of the patterning like you would if you mounted them that way. Taking the wide cornering lenses specifically, you would be taking a pattern that normally looks like (---), and turning it into (|). Now, the wide cornering pattern doesn't have any formal control of the up/downlight so it's still going to provide a bit of width, even when mounted vertically. Just know that the most intensity that the pattern can provide will be dumped immediately in front of the bumper, and up in the trees. The spot and flood patterns would be the only ones that could be mounted horizontally without really impacting the pattern.

That's why I was thinking spots for the ones closer in towards the middle and some kind of dispersed lense on the outer two as one of the options. Are the lines in the driving combo lenses going the opposite direction in S2's vs Squadrons? I thought that a driving combo would maybe be similar to a squadron if I put the spot half on top and the flood half on the bottom, but if the optics are aimed uniquely from going from the squadron to an S2 then that would make sense.

I figured I'd have better luck getting someone to trade only one set of lenses so I figured on keeping the wide cornering or the driving combo and make whatever I get work in terms of hopefully getting a spot or other driving combo in trade. I've gotten all of my lights on heavy discounts through classifieds and Amazon deal days so I'll just go with what I have until I get a good way to keep the savings I've gotten up until now.
