What Have You Done To Your 4th Gen Today?

Any idea if this step leaves enough room for the ARB tow hooks? Looks like it does, but might interfere if you need to use the passenger side hook.

 

If I remember correctly, there’s 4 holes in each side of the frame that has covers on them . And to put the hooks on you used the 2nd and 4th holes. So that would leave the 1 and 3 hole available but the hook covers the 3rd hole . So that would leave you with just the 1st which I’m saying is the closest to the bumper.

 

Removed the sun visor decals..couldn’t stand looking at them anymore

 

The PIO guide says that the step conflicts with the right tow hook. You can buy just one tow hook on the left if you wish. But you will need to make sure you only get stuck half as much.

 

My truck came with the tow hooks so the step isn’t going to happen. Thanks anyway.

How did you remove them? I started peeling one and it left an awful residue.

I ordered them from 3 places to have them email me back two days later that they are on hold with no expected restock date. I got pissed and ordered ARK guards . will be delivered on Tuesday 11/12/24

 

Just ripped them off.. sprayed some goo gone on the glue let it set for about 15 mins then I had some green scotch brite pads that I just rubbed the glue off.. one was definitely harder to get off than the others. Then I sprayed some spray way glass cleaner on an old t-shirt to clean all the leftover goo gone off. Only took about 30 mins

 

Strange. Mine arrived next day when I placed the ordered. Did you do it thru your dealership or Toyota website?

 

how hard was the blood to get out? Last time i did something like this it stunk every time it got wet.

 

Those costco pet seat cover hammock things work well. But yea their hooves and claws scratch the plastic up jumping in and out and looking out the window

 

Power washed it. Came out stink free! However the dogs sure know something was there

 

I used Toyota parts.com/ Toyota parts express and Toyota parts delivered. I also tried getting for a Toyota dealer in Connecticut. all replied they are on backorder with no expected delivery date.

 

Did the OEM Trailhunter grille swap with a a lightfox light bar ($70) from Amazon.

Had front TH skid. Added tranny plate I picked up after the last Toyota online sale. $310.50 for the front one, $270 for the rear. So $580 for the pair which I thought was very reasonable considering the other aftermarket options. The front skid uses 6 bolts which come in the TRD OR composite skid. The rear skid, which is identical to the LC 250 skid, uses 4 bolts. The rear skid comes with 4 bolts so you don't need to buy any extras. Torque to 21 ft lbs, per TIS document. You need to install the rear one first, then the front. Takes just a few minutes once the truck is in the air.
It looks one piece in the pic, but it is actually two pieces. The front plate stops after the third row of bolts, and there's very little overlap.

 

The Off-road should have come with similar skids.
