    I have a 2023 TRD OR

I notice sometimes when I start to drive off running 5 to 15 mph, then I let go of the gas, I hear a "thud" which feels like it's coming from the rear differential. The sound feels like it's gear that did not interlock properly. It doesn't always happen, is there something wrong somewhere? Is this differential issue?

shouldn't you take it to the dealer instead of on online diagnosis?

Try to get video of the thud. You can post the video here and show the dealer if they say they can not replicate the thud.

Mine has done that several times over the years I've had it. It's not violent or loud on mine so I just always thought it was part of the infamous gear hunting.

Sometimes they can stick pretty bad in the cold/wet and then make a bit of a bang when they release. Might dry doing without and see if it changes.

I get some weird shifting every once in a while but it is usually on a “downshift” as I am slowing or descending at slower speeds.
