When I moved into my house there was no pressure reducing valve on the water supply. Static pressure was 120 PSI (50 is normal). Using a garden hose did feel like having a pressure washer on tap. I put in a pressure reducing valve because I don't need the risk of my washing machine/toilet/sink supply hoses exploding.

My '88 911 has two oil drains, one from the engine and the main one from the external oil reservoir. Both of them have very large bore drain plugs and the external reservoir dumps about eight quarts of 20W-50 in about a second and a half, so you half to have a drain pan that does not restrict going into the pan or it'll make a huge freaking mess on your garage floor. And sometimes, even knowing that and planning for it, it still happens. The entire oil change is 10-11 quarts, but when you're changing the oil, you fill it with about 9 quarts then you go and drive it for about half an hour to get it fully warm, park it on a level surface and now check the oil with the engine running and slowly top it off until you get to the full line. Makes changing the oil on the Tacomas cake by comparison.

And don't forget your icemaker supply hose. Those are the ones most often overlooked. I had a pressure regulator installed and also bought a gauge to measure the pressure myself so I didn't need to call a plumber if I needed to adjust. Mine is set to 60 psi.

+1 and i use the clip-on hose adapter as well. i could change my oil in an expensive suit now.

previously, changing any oil always resulted in enough curse-jar donations to fund a date night, and kept the local stores well paid for oil dry...

Plus one on Fumoto or EZ-Drain with a tube. No open pan and no mess.

Try changing the engine oil on an old ford 8n tractor. It’s a 2” - 12 fine thread drain plug. 6 quarts in about a second. Better yet change the transmission/hydraulic/read end sump. Same size drain plug but it’s 5 gallons.
