Given the consequences I hope we can do better. I mentioned a higher orbit to get clear of the mess we are making in LEO. Maybe a few Trojan or Lagrange point observatories.

So daylight for starship entry. I wonder if they're going to do an on orbit relight test as well.

Oh wait it's there in the flight 6 goals.

Time to validate crossrange which is pretty awesome too.

It would be nice if a crewed version was in operation by then. 5 more years might be pushing it though unless they get Star Liner money. Boeing is selling a pig in a poke. If they thought it could be profitable they’d keep it.

Just in time to have no ISS to go to….

At the rate they’ve developed the cargo version, I think 5 years to come up with a crewed version is highly optimistic.

Agreed but there might be other destinations by then, whether it’s Haven, Life, or something else if Axiom can’t get it’s act together, it/they will still need both cargo and crew support. And they’ve gotten this far with much less funding than Boeing. Even if there’s a gap in station availability work will continue. While it’s no guarantee of success, more funding for companies that aren’t complete dumpster fires seems in order and success with Tenacity and Life could promote that. I just hope they have better, more cooperative relationships with subcontractors than Boeing along with focused, intelligent leadership. The engineering is hard enough but keeping the ducks in a line is just as critical which is probably why the industry has so many failures. I know BO has its own orbital ambitions but I wonder if they might be interested in acquiring Axiom to flesh out their capabilities. NASA is going to keep promoting development, the question is how well they decide who gets supported and with how much. The big names in aerospace used to garner the lion’s share of those contracts but that needs to change if the results don’t follow the payments, especially if they’re trying to get the industry to expand rather than just bloat.

No I haven't heard anything but SLS is definitely low hanging fruit. Glad I don't work there anymore. The way this election just shook out, I've got Elon being a trillionaire by 2028.
