FYI, I think the power tailgate is cool. Easy to open with your elbow when your hands are full. And I like knowing it’s locked.

I could get along fine without it considering it’s my first truck since 1977 with one.

    Y’all have a nice day.

Who said you’re not allowed to not like things? You went out of your way to call people weak for wanting the powered tailgate. That’s a bitch move. Why do you care? You have stuff on your truck you don’t need too. You don’t NEED a sound system in a truck. You don’t NEED cushioning in the seats. You don’t need NEED a pretty paint job or power steering or air conditioning or a few hundred other things that you probably have on your truck. Who cares? Some of you guys just aren’t happy until you find something to be unhappy about. Sounds exhausting. Life is too short to get all worked up over a tailgate.

I think they know there’s more to this transmission saga and they’re making sure it doesn’t screw up 4Runners reputation too

Yes, let’s face it, many many people have complained about shifting issues for months now, enough for 2 technical service bulletins to be put out

Two? Are you counting the TSB for the cracked shifter housing in the manual transmission?

Negative, the first tsb to include just gasoline models then it became obsolete and the 2nd tsb came out to include hybrid Tacomas

Wait. Isn't there a TSB for the volume nob falling off?

So, same tranny, same issue, eh? If I recall, it's swarf left during manufacturing.

    Swarf is from milling.

They said the same BS about the tundra motors, that is ever expanding…surely Toyota wouldn’t blame it on manufacturing debris instead of a design flaw to save face.

If it were a design flaw, all of these transmissions would be bad–and the TSB wouldn't be limited to the early-built trucks.

Do you own a 2024 or still driving a 2022?

if it is a design flaw, putting the same designed Tundra engine in 100,000 vehicles is going to exacerbate the problem. If it is true, that is truly and ever expanding problem. Even I'm not that cynical.

Not necessarily a flaw that is not catastrophic, there are plenty of videos on this with the Tundra. And Toyota can easily update a part without making it public.

And does it matter? You’re just as ridiculous as you are in the Facebook groups with your blind defense of any issues on this truck. Owning one does not make you a residing expert or exclusive in discussing issues with a new platform or gen. My 2022 is paid for and I was a cash buyer on a 2024, just waiting out the growing pains or maybe fullsize, still on fence, if you're about to pull that lame mantra too "can't afford one so hate on it." tag line. Don't hate the new truck but also not turning a blind eye to the issues and keeping versed.

Probably not but there was early speculation of cam or guides and weirdly a part update. You also had replaced engines fail after being replaced.

Same could be said about ignorant people who refuse to be open to anything besides their own opinions or ideas.

So you are saying that Toyota had a design flaw, but fixed it and blamed it on a manufacturing process because a design flaw would bruise their ego more so than a manufacturing process flaw?
