2025 Tacomas

I'm not saying that I'm saying it was a floated idea with the Tundra debacle, I have no idea what the issue is with the Tacoma trans and it probably is debris, who knows but its odd that Toyota said hey the debris only affected Tundras from 2022-2023 and we found and addressed the issue then expanded it to 2024. I do know my service advisor who would have no reason to hate, told me last visit he'd wait a year, he's already replaced 3 Tacoma transmissions, all under 9k miles. It's just oddly similar to the Tundra debacle. And yes I do think that Toyota would 100% save face to protect their brand and reputation. They denied issues with frames for decades, etc. and I'm a fanboy like the next.

I read the tacomaworld mission statement and it simply says "A place to discuss Toyota Tacomas." So, sharing an opinion that you state you have "no idea" and hearsay opinions from service writers is fair game and by definition adds to the discussion. I'm all about encouraging people to share their opinions, so keep sharing yours.

Keep in mind that there's a subset of people who simply are not risk adverse and the purchase of a truck is low on the list of risks that they face.

 

No idea outside what Toyota has said, the multiple test drives I've had, and from other owners here, FB groups and from a service writer who has fixed said trucks (thats not hearsay), I'm assuming many here including yourself also have "no idea" outside of that same information. But I agree, its a great place for discussion and opinions and everyone provides some value in their own perspectives, experiences, ideas, etc. and certainly shouldnt be dismissed just because they "don't own one."

 

I’m checking daily for new tsb and Notta lately… although I feel in my bones a recall or some type of customer service campaign is on its way

The opinion you share is anonymous. Therefore it is hearsay. Doesn't mean that it isn't true, simply means it can't be verified.

What I do understand is that there are many Toyota enthusiasts that are bummed that they can't allow themselves to go out and get a new truck because of the risk they perceive. I do appreciate and value those people's thinking on the matter, as I value yours. Although I don't want anyone to have a bad tranny experience, I feel most for the folks who have a truck that they describe as "shifts like garbage," but can't get any relief because it hasn't thrown any codes.

If someone asks me if they should get a new truck I say let it rip. I regret the things I don't do far more than the things that I do.

I'm going to let my self out now. When you get yourself a new truck, make sure to share your mods and your experience.

Because you claim I can't read, yet you wrote that you're driving a 2022 when in fact you drive a 2024. Confused? Sure.

 

I believe he has driven (not owned) a 24. He hangs out here and tells us all how bad the 4th gen is.

Sure bud. I am here doing my research and seeing feedback and chiming in with my own opinion and feedback from what I've seen, heard or experienced. If you took the time to not generalize or form a bias you'll see I actually have posted good things as well about the platform, but ya I hang here just to talk about how bad it is, since I a) care that much or b) have the free time to do so. Yep it's a perfect truck how dare anyone say otherwise or point out some possible issues, they don't own one, their just "trolling" or hating on it...

 

I was just doing a search for the 2025 Tacoma and found this link/image... If this is the new Taco - it's fugly. Hopefully it's speculation and inaccurate.
