I'm on my way to meet up with 2 of my buddies from boot camp right now. Was just about to pop in say happy Bday to you but you beat me to the punch like a real infantry warrior.
I'll be drinking lots alright but it'll be water cause I'm already dehydrated af and these guys don't drink either. The Marine in my family who got the drinking habit is the one who was stationed in Japan at 17. He may also be making an appearance tonight. all I know for sure is there is going to be cake

But without a tent how are you going to camp in the overflow lot so you can get first chair?

I was actually tempted to leave it on and get a couple camp trips that way yet -- technically it's not that much effort to drop back on either...so...

I slept amazing last weekend camping out off the CDT to support a trail-race. I took a heated blanky and omga it was amazing.

They also loook good, colorados/ canyons also look fine, rangers too.

    There's definitely not a shortage.

really need a full sized truck to pull a big boy camper though, which sucks

Yeah if you need full size it gets tough. The value for money on the Nissan and Ford is hard to beat though for midsize.

Just test drove one tonight. They fixed the big issue with the third gen, much better torque down low, but it is a bit buzzy of an engine. Turbo sound is subtle but fin. Ride is nice with the coils. It is a numb driving experience though, no feel to the steering at all. But the SR5 comes pretty bare bones, no heated seats, manual seats (but powered lumbar), no wireless charging, but not much for luxury whatsoever. at $299/mo it is tempting enough, but they were saying that with how the truck is optioned, it would be closer to $350/mo. What options you might ask? mud flaps and side steps... so $50/mo for ugly ass running boards... i dont think that is gonna jive for me. Insane that a basic SR5 is stickered for $44k. That is a lot more than my 2017 TRD Offroad was...

4H nor 4L would engage this last trip. I've got the jshift and the gear would go in fine but no light on the dash and very clearly not 4 wheels as I struggled on some rocks. Made it with the diff lock alight - but annoyed to have something to need to fix.

Good news -- just a failing/failed check valve. Had it up on jacks this weekend and was able to see the shaft turn but no happy wheels. Tracked it down after a bit of trouble shooting; so it's a win; no parts to buy!

Id want the big screen center console. Suck between theoff road with the locker or getting SR5 and elocker later on.

either way, will wait for a used truck in a year or two

I will probably test drive if one pops up on a used car lot, just for fun
