I am working a 2007 Tacoma 4.0 for a widow lady with limited income.

The initial issue was that the car stalled entering a parking lot and was subsequently towed to a shop that replaced the MAF sensor and stated that the transmission required overhaul.

I became involved at this point and noted that the car would start and die second attempt engine ran with the following codes P0102, P0031, P0037, P0051 and P057. I cleared the codes and except for the P0102 which would not clear.

    Swapped relays with no change.

Noted that the EFI No 2 fuse was blown replaced fuse and noted that the original codes returned.

Noted that there was a short to ground at the EFI 2 fuse. Drove the vehicle to my shop ran fine no indication of any transmission issues. Rechecked for ground at EFI 2 fuse and found it to be fine. Replaced fuse and cleared all codes, ran the truck for 10+ minutes as soon as I closed the driver door fuse blew. Wiggle check of wiring shows no discrepancies. Disconnected O2 sensors without effect on the issue.

I am trying to find routing for the EFI 2 circuit but am at a loss of how to track it as I have not been able to identify any of the connectors in the system to start issolation.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated this is pro bona attempt at getting this lady back to basic transportation.

The EFI No 2 fuse power's quite a few things.

    MAF Sensor
    Purge VSV
    ACIS VSV
    B1S2 & B2S2 O2 Heaters
Control side of the AF Heater Relay
    EVAP Vent Valve

    Thank You for your reply.
I will be chasing these tomorrow. Wish I could identify the connectors to isolate the systems.

Which connectors are you referring to?

I've seen broken o2 sensor wires do this. Do a thorough inspection.

The power line that is initially showing the short goes through to the cab. There are many connectors under the dash but I have not found a method of identifying which connector is related to which circuit.

You all have given me several resources to study and explore - I just hope I am up to the chalange.

The only wire off that fuse that goes through the interior is the one going to the Vent Valve in the Leak Detection Pump at the rear of the truck, that goes through connector IB1 Pin 3 (Blue/White) located behind the left kick panel.

All the other wires go though the underhood junction connector (2A & 2B), 2B is easy to access but 2A is under the fuse box and nearly impossible to get to.

If you can get us pictures on the connectors, and location, we might be able to help more.
Take some pictures of the location of the connector, and then a close up of the connector. Try to get us a view of the wires and colors.
    That will help us more.

Thanks to your help progress is being made. I have isolated the short to fuse box connector 2A pin 15.
Now to disassemble the fuse box enough to trace.
It feels mighty good to be able to make progress thanks to your assistance.

If you haven't had the fuse box apart before, here's a post that shows where all the little clips are inside:

I have the fuse box apart. Pin 15 is a blue and white wire I belive it is going to the leak detection pump vent valve. I have disconnected 1B1 connector in LH kick panel still shows short to ground at pin 15. Will start tracing wire as soon as I finish some honey do requests.
