    Rained all morning. Right before I got out of the truck it stated 71 on the dash. This deer came by. Mouth wide open and tongue hanging out. If anyone thinks these temperatures aren't affecting these deer they are mistaken.PXL_20241110_165721001.jpg

    So this picture. Yes that is my tree stand in the tree. I had put it in there the evening before. It rained, and rained and rained. About 11:00 a.m. it stopped so I thought I might Scout the area as I hadn't been there for a while. In the field I spotted a really nice buck tending a doe. Knowing the area I thought they might travel back by the stand, but I didn't want to make a bunch of noise getting up into it. So I thought I would sit here and wait. In the meantime two other bucks came up from the opposite direction. The one in the picture is one of them.

    Did I mention it was like 71 ° and by the time I saw the buck in the field and got up to my tree stand where I thought I might cut him off you could have rung my shirt out.
    Scent Shield is a joke at this point.

    Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
    So after my forkie experience yesterday while I was sitting in my truck...24 hours later this bruiser walked by me in my stand.20241110_135130.jpg
    I hunt by myself so a long slog of a drag uphill all the way to my truck and a little leverage using some 2x4s I got him loaded and ready for transport. He might go on my wall.signal-2024-11-10-16-05-07-479.jpg
