I've not had good luck with those quick drain plugs. After 15 years or so they get brittle and crack. When new, they do work good.

Yea, the one Chinese engine I had it looked like some metric bolt thread. A 3/8 pipe nipple was way too big.

My wife has caught the holiday spirit, ( a bit early for my taste) she's ordering solar powered string lights for the house. I'm all for it since they won't be plugged in running up the electricity bill :spending:

I wóuld suggest a Wi-Fi switch. Makes it really easy to program, or at least shut off when you don't want it on.

And a friendly reminder, all exterior outlets need to be GFI protected. Could install a GFI next to the switch, or use a GFI breaker. The outlet method is cheapest, but takes a touch more wire

The lighting circuit in the garage is GFI protected, so that's all covered there. I have plenty of 14/2 laying around so the other supplies I needed was only $50. Not a fan of an extension cord running down to the outlet I have down lower, so I'm gonna put a box up near the soffit. I spaced out and bought the wrong cover, but I'm not ready to hang the lights just yet.
