Get the dealer to "Reprogram BSM Sensors"

 

I Agree. Will this make it simple on and off system?

 

I've towed several times with my truck and have not had any issues. It detects my trailer–which turns some Safety Sense features off–and when I unhitch and restart, it asks if I disconnected. It works fine.

After the TSB, I assume the system will do the same for those with the issue.

 

This is exactly the solution the dealership found and my truck is finally fix after having the ghost trailer for a month:


Get with any Toyota dealership to fix the issue, at least this went under warranty and I don’t have to pay a penny for me to recalibrate the sensors.

That is the Japanese vs English I'm guessing...For some reason mine has been working OK, but I do have to drive the truck around some Right and left turns then park it. Be careful backing a trailer up without it on, when it sees it your truck will slam on the brakes. Not fun.
