    That's going to be a 50k Ranger and that's fullsize pricing might as well go with a F-150 Raptor

    GM 1500 4x4 TurboMax regular cabs are around 40k. F-150 Raptor is probably around 120k. HDs still make the most sense for the money.

    I'm blown away that according to the Ford website there is zero price increase on the '25 Rangers to include the Raptor. Not sure if I would say it's a better truck but certainly a better value (Raptor).

    Better engine options? The 2.7 is a $2,200 option. More hp/tq than non-hybrid Tacoma but same mpg/range with 18gal tank. The Tacoma hybrid is only a little more, gets more power/tq/mpg - you lose under seat space but gain a 2400w inverter. Not sure I would call that significant.

    More tech? You can't get ventilated seats or a power tailgate on the Ranger. What tech are you referring too?

    More backseat legroom? Ranger advantage over a non-Iso Tacoma is pretty small.

    More configurable/factory order? Yes, but how many Ranger buyers actually order their trucks?

    You know there are "multiple" TSB on every year of Tacoma model ever made right? Along with every other vehicle out there. By that philosophy, what vehicle could you buy?

    If I'm specifically looking at a Tacoma and the next thing I read is a TSB on a Tacoma 8spd transmission. I'm going to ruel that vehicle out until I'm confident that TSB is corrected prior to production. It's not like the TSBs alone are what would keep me from purchasing a new 4G Tacoma, there are things I don't like about the truck.

    Yup I can have two contradictory opinions at once and still be right.

    1. I really don't want to buy a truck that has a TSB for automatic transmission replacement if there's an issue.

    2. There are other things I don't like about the 4G outside of any TSB.

    It's already been long corrected.................
    And I understand if there are thing you may not like about the truck , we all have things we don't like about them, but you didn't state any other reason than that one TSB..........................
    But overall,
    (and I know I speak for most of us on here), the G4 totally kicks ass and is far superior to the G3 in every way possible.

    I disagree. But that’s also your opinion. I’m not the average consumer.

    You can do anything you want, just don't be surprised when other people are confused by what you're saying.

    It's like hanging out in an online forum dedicated to a truck you don't own and aren't buying. You're free to do it, it just doesn't make much sense.

    @Snakepilot

    To be fair, I haven't driven the 2.7 yet, but I'd be *really* surprised if it gets outperformed by the iForce MAX. I drove a TRD Sport iForce MAX and to be it felt no different from the iForce.

    I feel that Ford is ahead of Toyota in tech. For example, the ECU can be re-flashed via a smartphone app.

    Now, more state-of-the-art tech comes with a reliability and "guinea pig" cost. Part of Toyota's secret to reliability is staying at the back of the pack where it's safe.

    I will admit that Toyota will whip Ford's ass 7 ways to Sunday in the resale value department.

    @Plasmech

    That's the problem with discussing trucks. What's better/more important for one person is not the same for another. For me sometimes it comes down to just one thing that makes it a deal breaker. Tundra and Hummer Truck are too big, Rivian R1T is the perfect size but I can't get over the face. For the RRaptor it's a couple of little things - no vented seats, portrait display, and the door open chime.

    I agree, and I respect you opinions.

    For me, vented seats are not an issue. Maybe it's the climate I live in, maybe it's a physiological thing, maybe I just don't know what I'm missing.

    What is the Ford door open chime thing?

    4g people always try to discount non4g opinions against buying one. We aren’t allowed to vocally not like a model in this forum.. even if its justified. Fyi - you can like Toyota without embracing the direction the company is heading or liking certain models.

    just a couple of things tbh
    fords are loaded with tech tbh. i had a 22 ranger and it was very loaded compared to a tacoma of the same year. lots more options and configuration to build my truck how i wanted when i ordered mine. one tech i will say ford has and i miss on my 2022 was the ford pass. being able to control the truck and see features of the vehicle from my phone was awesome!

    also a good majority of ranger owners back when i was active in the 5g forum did order the truck how they wanted it since ford allows you to kinda build it how you want.
