I have a 2022 Tacoma TRD OR. I thought the bulb from the third brake light stopped working so I bought a new one but that wasn’t it. I’ve checked the wires and there’s voltage for the cargo light but no voltage for the stop light. I’ve checked most fuses and they all seem fine.

Thanks a lot, Caribe. Unfortunately that’s not it. :( The fuse looks fine and has continuity.

They do. Only the third brake light doesn’t. I checked and there’s no voltage on the connector on the violet wire. The cargo light works fine though

DMM the wire while pressing stop pedal. Notice there's no interruption to 3rd Brake light wire from 1F to connector.

Caribe, I can’t seem to find that connector. Is it on the driver side? The relays and connectors are not the same in my truck. Because of how the harness is set up, I think it’s the one you’re referring to.IMG_8063.jpg IMG_8061.jpg

It's higher up and more towards the center. Look for the relays in the picture.

Should I remove the panel? I found one of the relays but it’s a very tight space.

If you remove the switch panel, you'll see the connector.
    It's behind this panel:

Hi Caribe! I checked and there’s voltage when I hit the brake. I guess I’ll start tracing the cable. Do you have the wiring route by any chance? Is there a connector somewhere along the route that could be the issue that I could first check?

No connector in between, wire runs from there to sill, to rear passenger sill, up to light assembly.

Found it!!!! Apparently there was a “red alert” and had a bad connection. I got rid of it and connected it directly. @caribe makaira thanks A LOT for all your help!! It works now!
