Didn't get QUITE as much time on the 701 this weekend as I wanted but I did get a fair amount done.

    - installed spools and changed out the lifters on my rear stand, much sturdier now getting the rear up
    - Installed an R&G tail tidy, Amazon turn signals, and put my plate on. Looks MUCH better than the hack job the PO did
    - Swapped the passenger pegs for Kriega milled nylon heel plates/tie down points

Tail tidy ended up being a PITA to wire up. I tried to keep it super sanitary and bought some OEM-series connectors to wire the brake/plate light and the turn signals up myself. Its those mini-plug JST style connectors. Holy shit those pins are a PITA to terminate. They're freaking tiny. I didn't have the proper crimper so I was trying to do it using needle nose pliers (probably 90% of my problem right there haha). In the end, I cut/soldered one connector together for the plate/brake, and then successfully crimped the two for the turn signals. Better than bullet terminals to adapters to OEM. Then had to replace the OEM turn signal relay with an LED one, which I luckily had laying around from when I bought the one for the Grom. Took me like half an hour to find it though. I checked eeeeeverywhere and it ended up being in a box in the very bottom corner of the shop with all the CT90 parts. Because of course it was. Oh well. A quick adapter there and flash rate was back to normal.

Also put the Hippo Hands back on the F800GS. Next week has a low in the low 20's. Brr. Oh, and I got a notifaction that my Seat Concepts seat for the 701 shipped after only 8 or 9 days, was supposed to be 3-4 weeks build time. Pumped about that.

Oh, and my daughter "helped" me for a minute. Had to get her first pick of her wrenchin'

Finally got around to installing the dash cam I bought a month ago:

I'm OCD about wiring so I had to take almost everything off the bike to properly run the wires:

I had already signed up on ADVrider.com so passed on doing this one. Might have to try playing on this forum next year.

No problem. You might even see if the dealer will pick up/drop off the bike and do it over the winter. Dealership I worked for we used to do that a lot to keep mechanics working thought the slow season and it was good customer relations. It's worth asking.

6 months, 4 calls, and 2 paid replacements later.......aaaaand the DMV just delivered a 3rd copy of my R6 registration after my latest call a couple weeks ago, rather than the title that is still lost to the wind. I cannot express how immeasurably and immensely frustrated and absolutely fed up I am with the CA DMV over what should be resolved very simply.

I have paid for the transfer, paid for 2 replacements, all the info is correct, the bike is registered to my name and correct address as confirmed via my account on their website. Just give me what is mine for Christ's sake.

Then why do they keep charging me for this shit :censored:

I just want my fucking paperwork. If anything happens and insurance needs to be involved I'm shit out of luck because they still don't have a title showing I own it...after 6 fucking months

well that's good to know at least. I haven't gone through filing a claim without all necessary paperwork so that's some relief. though I imagine it'd probably be more critical if the bike is stolen vs crashed? of which theft is my bigger concern tbh.

still massively irritated with the DMV though

Not sure if any of you guys are familiar with this man or not but he passed away this week.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Barr_(motorcyclist)

I had the pleasure of meeting him and hearing him speak back in the late 90's at a Harley Davidson Open House held in York, PA. Double amputee who rode around the world and also crossed Siberia in the winter on a Harley Davidson. I bought both of the books he had written about his rides and both are autographed. He was definitely an interesting and impressive individual.
