Thought about a pad for the bikes, but was always concerned with added stress to the headset bearings and cups. Ended up with a pair of Yakima bike racks for the bed bars. Now they live in a corner of the basement bc the fishing rod racks are on there. You ever have any issues??

 

They’re 660# down from the 720#. They are also taller, 402mm vs 390mm.

if they don’t settle I’ll have to do the boot slide mod to help save the cv boots

 

Haven't had any issues running the smaller (2 bike) pad.

 

Well I was going to order tires from @Discount Tire but my only option is Tire rack. Went to checkout and they don’t have an option for veterans discount. Guess I’ll take my business elsewhere. Looking for suggestions

 

SimpleTire is the way to go.
Find the tires with a cheaper price, get them to price match then use veterans discount.

 

Drove around some, speed bumps and normal MD roads Seems like the suspension soaks up more of the road and bumps while cycling easier. Still a little stiff but in a good way.

After this week I’ll know more since I have a few long drives.

Also rotated the tires today. Tomorrow I’m hoping to get to the fluids changed

I don’t know anything about welding, sorry. Maybe as in the AOAA thread, it was still somewhat active. Maybe someone there can help. Looks shoddy to me but I’m not a welder.
