Looking for opinions on the best wax. I wax my truck a minimum of twice a year (Fall & Spring). Interested to see what people like to use. Thank you.

OG Johnsons Paste Wax here. The shit can grow back a missing limb. But then again, what the hell do I know!

PS: it's really more about the prep and less about the wax.

I have been using Collinite No. 845 for years and like it. It's a Carnauba-Polymer Hybrid Paint Sealant, and lasts about 6 months.

I’ve been using Meguiar’s products for 40 years. Lately been using Gold Class Carnuba on my Tacoma. There may be better stuff out there but it’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze, applies easier than any wax I have ever used and 2 coats after a thorough wash and clay never failed to give a full year of protection.
I gave away almost all of the other waxes and sealants I had except for the ones that aren't sold in the US anymore.

Been using Meguiars Gold for a long time. Really shines and lasts too. But what I did last year was have Modesta ceramic coating put on my Taco. No more waxing !!! Was told it will last 8-10 years depending if it is garage kept or not. It was not cheap. They kept my truck for 3 days cause the coating had to be cured under UV light. Bugs practically rinse off with a hose. I still use Meguiars wax on my old Yukon though, not spending the cost of ceramic on a 22 y/o Yukon.

Ceramic DIY coatings. I have used Ethos with good results. Still need to use a topper twice a year but much less work than waxing. All waxes above I have use with good results but wax last a few months why ceramic or graphene coatings are the thing now. Prep is the key to any wax or coating.

I use Griot's Garage products, the 3 in 1 ceramic spray wax is my go to. Using their ceramic wash, and ceramic speed shine, helps "recharge" and extend the effectiveness of the product. Their drying towels are AWESOME!

With that said, I am not sure if you know but, there is a whole forum on here dedicated to automotive detailing, and you can possibly get more, and or better answers there: https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/detailing.32/

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
I read through some of that thread and decided on Turtle wax Graphene 53477. I don't have anything to compare it too, and I've only had my truck since March, but I'm happy and it is easy to apply.

I'm too old to properly wax my Tacoma. It's a whopper of a vehicle to begin with.
If I had to use old-school wax I'd dial 911 first to get the ambulance on the way to pick me up off the ground.

I use the easiest stuff I can get my hands on and for me that's Chemical Guys spray-wax.
I figure if I use it with every wash ( about every three months ) it works out to a full wax-job once or twice a year.
Plus it's easy as hell to use.

I use tire and wheel cleaner foams as well and deep vac the interior a few times a year too.

While it's not a pavement princess I do like keeping it in showroom condition. My son is banking on my early demise
and is salivating at snatching the keys before my body is cold LOL.... and I'm all for it. It'll be paid off in another 2-3 months to boot.

I read reviews on this and wanted to give it a try so I did half my hood with the Turtle Wax Graphene and the other half with Ethos Resist which is a graphene spray the Turtle wax lasted about 2-3 months no more water beading and the Ethos Resist is still going strong after 4 months and counting.

I second the Griot's garage 3 in 1 ceramic spray as one step solution for my work van. Lasts the longest out of several simple to apply things I have tied.

I use Wolfgang uber SiO2 silica spray as a topper for my taco which I ceramic coated last year. It would probably work great on its own also but is somewhat expensive.

The modern spray on coatings/sealants last around the same amount if not longer then conventional wax and are way easier to apply after every couple washes.

A professional ceramic will last much longer and provide a lot more protection.

Gtechniq CSL topped with Exo V5 is the best combo imo.

It's baffling that SC Johnson appears to have discontinued their traditional and much loved paste wax. I have a half tub here that I'm very happy to still be using. Not on the truck any more though -- it's one of several products that get used instead, mostly Griot's these days. Their Best of Show wax is quite nice. Griot's Speed Shine is a great touch up detailer too -- I use that one all the time.

I just used this on my truck. I wanted to try something boutique like Collinite, but nothing was available in my area.

It’s been nice to see the water beading up every morning.

Can’t really beat it for the price.
