Yeah you can always expect a shed to be a bit longer as it stretches as it comes. I remember measuring 10ft sheds from 8ft boas back in the day.
Good looking animal there, should start to thicken up now at that size especially if it's a male the length growth should be slowing down here soon

Lurking here and would love to join this conversation. I have quite a few snakes. 5 western hognoses: 1 albino female, 1 het xanthic female, 2 het xanthic males and 1 het albino male. 2 rubber boas: 2 females, mom and daughter, 1 red tail boa: we think female, and 1 dumeril's boa: male.

Love all your pics and your snake babies are beautiful!

You going to breed your hogs I presume? About time to start cooling them if they're of breeding age.

    Big fan of rubber boas.

No breeding. Just got them because they're adorable. My rubber boas are the best tempered little snakes.IMG952015072895121813894.jpg

    Many coming
I was dove hunting by a water pond thought something was watching me i slowly turned around and the largest MBS I have ever seen the head was about the size of my clenched fist, We both went opposite directions but I didn't find him again, I want one now.

So my viper boa finally ate after not eating for 7 months. Thank God he's eating again.
My cali king has doubled in size since I got him last year. My mexican black kingsnake also has doubled in size hard to get a good picture of him normally don't see him during the day.

I might be getting another snake. Mothers friend from work is trying to find a new home for her son snake. Comes with everything. Haven't found out what type yet though. Time will tell.

The yearly expo was here and I was originally looking for some children's and or spotted pythons to have a little breeding project again but that idea sailed when I came across 2 more gems from the liasis family.
    20240818_213814.jpg
First pvc enclosure I have had and let me tell you glass is dead. Light holds heat and humidity cleans well and just looks clean. May have to order up another larger one for the olive.
    20240818_213928.jpg
Tough to see but also a first for me are in tank radiant heat panels. Really interesting units they still get quite toasty but unless you were to hold your hand on it for quite awhile you can't burn yourself. Not hot enough to melt plastic. Pair thst with a herpstat and it's a slick set up.
    20240818_213837.jpg
Spicy critter #1 Australian water python yearling. Last year's baby and apparently the runt but super dark back compared to the others that really shows the iridescence. Pretty sure this one will take awhile to calm down but it will be worth it.
    20240818_213909.jpg
Spicy critter #2 Macklots python, 2 months out of the egg. Typical defensive baby but I'm thinking she identifies as a tree python as she's has not touched the ground since she came home.

Do you have a link for where you got the enclosures at. I've been looking into them for a while now. BTW they are both beautiful snakes.

That's who I'm buying through. His shop is local to me which is nice. They are not cheap at all but after seeing it next to my glass terrarium right now its just not acceptable.
Just need to find out how big I can go without a front center brace. I think it will be a 48x24x48. But ideally I'm after a 72x24x48 for the next one.

I know years ago my brother had a red tail boa and he built the tank it was 6ft4ftx10. I wish I was better at wood working I'd build it myself but unfortunately I'm not. I've always wanted to put my old girl ball python in a bigger tank she's in a 4ftx36inx36 now. She could use more space.

That's still pretty good for a ball, generally they don't get anymore than a cb70 tub in a rack. Building a box really isn't hard out of plywood. I wad going to do it but the fit finish and weight of these pvc board tanks has me sold. My guess is a 6x2x4 is going to run me 15-2000 with heat which will hurt as my guess is it'll be 3-4 times more than doing a wood build.
I have had issues properly sealing wood tanks in the past as well I think I would pond line the next one.

That's not a bad idea with the pond liner.

The new tank is set up, 4x2x4 pvc, 125w radiant heat panel hooked to a herp stat. Led day light and night lights and a mist king to round it out.

So my group has been expanding a fair bit here, it's such a problem when your now in a point in life you can afford a few of the bucket list animals now compared to back in the day...
Vpi T+ snow motely BCI boa

Unfortunately that water python was the literal devil and couldn't be displayed in any capacity so she was re homed. Couldn't be in the room at at came out of the hide and struck at the glass constantly I had to move her to a tub in the storage room just so she would stop smashing in her face. Even noise in the room with the tank covered you could hear her banging off the glass.

Just need to build covers for the stands yet.

My adopted ball python is an absolute devil also. Mean as all can be i have to pin his head down and put him in a pillow case. Just to clean his tank. He's a nightmare. Never thought a ball can be so aggressive
