Thank you, just installed it. Everything works, but the radio beep is ear piercing, and there's very bad static. I'm assuming this is just a simple task of setting gains correctly. Please let me know if you think it's something different.

I was reading that it's probably better off on these later models to run dedicated battery power, so I did that. And I grounded it on the same chassis bolt that the battery goes to. Mounted the amp under the passenger airbag, and everything seems to fit fine. And running wires was simple. All around, not a bad experience. And I hate wiring stuff.

I think you can change the volume somewhere in the head unit settings. I have an aftermarket so I’m not positive though.

A lot of things can cause That static/hiss. Gains too high, too close to other power wires, or ground connection, etc.
That power pack doesn’t have the best s/n ratio So you probably just need to keep the gains down a bit. Also, I don’t remember if it has a high/low Input switch but if it does, make sure it is set to high

These are the switches it has other than gain. I messed with the gain already, and the hissing is almost gone. There's just a lil bit left, but it's livable. I don't know enough about audio to know what Hz to set it at, or 2CH vs 4CH, RCA vs Speaker level input...

Hi-pass can be off if you don’t have a sub.
    Input config to 4ch
Input signal to speaker (however, turn the volume and gains down and try RCA to see if it gets rid of the hiss)

So, it was already set like that. I played with everything to see if it changed it, and it's best as is. Setting it to SPKR instead of RCA seemed to flatten everything out.

Amazing writeups. Read a few different threads. This one fit perfectly for my 2023 SR. I bought the harness on Amazon (for speakers), tapped power from the factory radio (I installed the anytime camera so didn't need to touch factory wires), and grounded directly to the chassis via a screw behind the HU. I originally tapped radio ground, which worked fine, too, but I cleaned up the install and gave it a chassis ground. Everything works great! The setup is loud and a bit unnerving, but everything works excellent. Thanks to everyone who contributed. Thanks to @destin_meeks for all that you add to TW.

This with stock speakers? I'm thinking of upgrading piecemeal and starting with the Kicker Key amp.

The key is a fine place to start if you’re going in steps. There is certainly a chance of blowing a factory speaker if you want (not actually sure what power they are rated for) but that just gives you a reason to replace them!

Sorry I upgraded with the other budget thread. The kicker speakers and I opted for the ds18 tweeters. Plenty of threads regarding that, too. I agree with what most people said... each speaker upgrade improves sound quality. The kicker really gives the last bit. I felt the bass was slightly lacking, and the kicker key amp fixes that issue. I'm not sure how stock speakers would hold up. I think you'd probably blow them tbh.

So I opted for a hideaway style sup and went with a simple mini single channel LOC with pre-made harness for simple install before considering possibly adding a Key. Question anyone might know is if the LOC would be at all affected by splicing in another set of leads to the speaker level input side of the LOC to run to the Key later on down the road? I would imagine not but just curious if anyone has any info on that.

You would cut the premade piece. Super easy

Gotcha. Just wasn't sure if there would be any sorts of impedance issues etc to would affect the LOC to pull another signal off of those input wires! Although I just che ked and the kit I bought tapped to the rear signal so I'm sending that back ASAP. Everything I've researched has me wanting to pull only signal from the front.

Grab the red wolf harness and a back LOC on Amazon. Make your own and you’ll be set

So I found a good deal on the key amp. Let me know if this is an appropriate wiring solution. Take the front and rear signals both from the oem deck out to the key amp but split the front signal on the input side of the amp and run that "T" into a simple LOC to run the RCA into the self powered sub.

Seems to be the most basic way to get it all done...
