We had a (not so bright) fellow call in to work "because his mother had passed away".

For some paperwork reasons the Plant Manager had to call his house, he expressed condolences to the person he spoke to -- who just happened to be the dudes (now furious) mother...

that was exactly what i was going to comment. if just getting the interview is difficult, it doesn't bode well for why they're looking for someone to begin with.

    my brothers are mechanics.

both of their shops have something like 4-8 service advisors depending on when i ask either of them. if any one of them lasts longer than 1-2 years, it's almost record-breaking.

given my brothers connections at either dealer, and my past customer service experience, i've considered going into it. but it's just not a great environment.

the position is half talking to people about a widget and how it's critically broken and need to be repaired NOW, for a 4-digit number, not in 6 months, despite them not having any clue what the widget is, does, or why it's needed for vehicle functionality, no matter how many times one explains the core functionality to them.

and the other half is people that don't fully understand what the widget is or does, but are convinced you're out to get them...

all the while, there's bosses breathing down your neck to meet specific financial goals...

overall, i'm happier just not dealing with members of the general public if i can avoid it. i can barely take driving next to most of them on good days.

lately it seems the only people i get behind on the road are insisting on driving 5-10 mph under the speed limit everywhere...

Any campground in the present have meters on the RV plugs.

Last year we spent $40/week when the temps dropped below 25*. We were running 2 space heaters.

interesting. all the campgrounds we go to, they'll sometimes have meters on the seasonal sites, but all the non-seasonal sites are just a flat rate per day based on 30/50A service, and water/electric/sewer access.

Yeah, it’s pretty amazing what they’re doing. It’ll be wild if they can catch it again and meet the other objectives.

    How about you?

Our old mail lady at the store, she was a hard worker. BUT, she thought we were just swimming in money.

She would bring our mail in with a check from where we turned tobacco coupons in on the top and slide it to us and say "I didn't want to leave this in the box". I would open it, it would be like $7.43 or $2.57 and I would laugh.

Well, after we moved last year she was diagnosed with cancer and had to leave her job.

She still calls my wife every now and then and talks. They had a fundraiser to pay doctor bills for her a few months ago with lunch and a silent auction. We went.

About a month ago she calls my wife just to chit chat and in casual conversation lets a crucial piece of info slip out. All of her doctor visits and cancer treatments are paid for by her insurance through the post office.

When she realized what she had said, she started back peddling and said the money raised went to pay other bills. Whatever, that's on you, not us.

Well about 2 weeks ago she called again and said they were having another fundraiser for her. We did not go.

I hope she's okay and has everything worked out.

Some things you have a weird feeling about, this is one of those things.

Yes, I am very excited. If they can catch 2 boosters in a row?!:boom: I just hope they fixed the chine cover, or added some redundancy to those single point of failure valves. And also fixed the sensor/coding for that turbopump speed indicator.

Otherwise, I think they have the OLIT and OLM side of things figured out. Or, at least, we haven't heard of any issues with them.

Went by and saw my parents yesterday. Dad is doing good. No oxygen, on a blood thinner pill twice a day. They told him he had to quit chewing tobacco.

That'll probably kill him. He's been chewing for 65 years, every day.

I'm thankful we have some more time with him. A week ago we thought we had lost him.

Seen a lotta stuff stolen over these years but the lowest form of theft has gotta be Folks Goodwill. Ruins it for those who need it.

:rofl:Was laughing too hard to respond.
