Dead battery…are my door locks disabled?

    09tacoma db cab. I left a add on led light on for 3 hrs at work. My keyless entry didnt work an neither would the key. This is my third Tacoma and ive had a dead battery or two. But I’ve never been locked out. What gives???

    a cb radio and 2 baby seats
    I’ve had a 2019 Subaru computer stop communicating with the fob AND the physical key wouldn’t open the doors. Had to have a road service guy get into it and the dealer reestablished connection. Get a tow truck guy help you or break in, change battery and then see what you need.

    Obviously the keyless entry should not work with a dead battery, the key should though

    It's possible the key cylinder is stuck from years of not being used. I try to use mine occasionally. Maybe a shot of WD40 or rust penetrant into the cylinder?

    Ordinarily I'd say the same thing but if it's stuck you gotta do what you gotta do and the chances of him having WD40 on hand is much higher than what you posted.

    Agreed. As temperature drops the “give a shit” index kinda goes out the window.
