Diff/Transfer is easy if you've got a flat driveway. I just did the rear and transfer, need to remove the skid plate to do the front.

Decently flat, or I could maybe get over to the base hobby shop.

It’s more of a time thing than a anything else.

I'd suggest going ahead and buying a replacement plug and crush washer before you start.

FWIW, a local buddy recommended Arrow Mobile Electric off Witchduck and between speed, honesty, and price I think I’ve found a spot I’ll use for mechanical related items for the foreseeable future.

What’s up VA…deploying soon and parting out some nice mods. Hit me up if you’re interested:

    1. RLD camper shell (perfect condition)
    2. Cali raised sliders (year old, zero off road)
    3. Full RCI skids (trd pro front skid) all perfect condition zero offroad.
    4. Full set of 5x SCS F5s (-35 offset) black with 33s (would trade for your stock wheels tires plus cash).
    5. SPC uca with new ball joints (newer version SPC).

Hey all. I purchased a Nitro gears 4.88 8.75" regear set from Toytec lifts a while back. (GPTACO2016-8.75 - Nitro Gear Package (2016+ Tacoma with 8.75" Rear/ Auto With OEM E-Locker or Manual Trans). I've been out of the country for >1 year, finally back and ready to install, but I can't find a trustworthy place that will do the work with customer supplied parts. ECGS will only do it w/ their own parts unfortunately.

Anyone know of a good shop within a couple hours of Williamsburg/Hampton Roads that will do the work with new, unopened box, customer-supplied parts?

OTRAMM is around 2 hours from Williamsburg I believe, they install customer parts. Big with Land Cruiser folks but work on everything. (Iron Pig in Fredericksburg is another I remember being referred to a while back.)
As for local, DIA Automotive in VB has been mentioned to me a few times, I haven't used them yet but know they install customer parts because I've spoken with them, might be worth an email or phone call. I used to use Japanese Auto Masters for misc. things I didn't want to do or have room for, but last I checked they won't do customer parts anymore.

Thanks for the tips. I'm waiting on some calls back from a few of these shops. There are a few out there that might be willing, but I'd rather it not be the first time they're doing this job ... confidence not high. I'm trying to get someone who has done a few regears, on a tacoma, to do the work. That's the other tough part. Worse to worst I'll try and sell the parts I've got and just pay someone for parts and labor <sigh>.
