I had a W123 300D back in the "Go Go" 80s. Every 4th car running down Kavanaugh in those days was a 240 or 300 D. Most of them (mine included) came from the oil patch in TX and OK during oil bust. The local dealer was buying and shipping in W123s from TX and OK by the truckload.

I think I paid $7.000 for mine back then. It really did look like a new car. But slow AF since it wasn't a TD. I like to drive fast and aggressive and that didn't blend with a Diesel. Also I didn't want to be inconvenienced with the winter fuel additive and some of the hassles of ownership. Though I did learn about changing brake and power steering fluid as part of a regular service.

The only thing I miss about those cars was the MBTech interior. Like any vehicle fad, it ended and I was lucky to be one of the first ones out.

Kent Bergsma, the Benz expert lives, in WA. It may not be far from you.

There’s actually a ton of them sitting on Marketplace around here, and they’re usually asking well under 5k too. I was surprised to see that since I thought they were really sought after. They’re everywhere in North Africa. Maybe these all need IPs or something.

    I'm not surprised.

It's not to say they're not worth the money (I personally have no experience with them), but it's really easy to sucker yourself into a vehicle when you say "thought they were really sought after" and "they're all under $5k"

Those vehicles are sitting because there are a ton of other options in that price range that are newer, reliable, and don't look like something grandpa drove to the paper mill

For instance, I love certain 6 and 8 series bimmers and they'll come up often

But at $8-12k that they're asking for, there are a ton of other vehicles that make more sense for the money

Might be closing on our new house early, potentially as early as 10 days from now we just have to smooth out a couple potential credits we're asking for per the inspection results (HVAC, kitchen sink and chimney need varying degrees of repair). None of it is a deal breaker, but it's the final negotiation with the seller before we sign closing papers :fingerscrossed:

I drank it black for years. Most off the shelf creamers are too sweet for me too but honey and milk hits the spot

Took another crack at replacing the boards inside my TV since the first batch didn't have the correct main board for my model. Guess it was just more time and money wasted (return shipping and 20% restocking fees) and I still need a new TV. Maybe I'll get one from Costco instead of Walmart this time

TV shopping pisses me off these days. They've thrown so many new terms and shit at us the last few years, with UHD, QHD, ULED, QLED, OLED, QNED, Mini-LED, QD-Mini-LED and every other -LED its impossible to keep it all straight. Can't just walk into the store and actually know what's good and what isn't anymore, other than by the price tag

You lumped in trademark with shorthanded names for describing resolution

In short, it's all marketing as all of those TV types use backlit panels with the exception of an OLED

OLED sets have individually controlled LEDs that can run as full off next to a bunch that are full on, creating better contrast than any backlit TVs can display

I got mine for like 1200$ off on a bestbuy deal. Was bigger and nicer than what i was looking for but with the deal it was in the price range of everything i was looking at. Order online and paid a little extra for them to take the old one and mount it on the wall for me because hanging a 77” by yourself isn’t fun
