Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

Good morning Wrenchmen, henchmen, manly men & authorized associates.

 

Morning crew apparently we are getting winter gear for our work on the pressure washing line. They took our sizes and are ordering everyone bibs and jackets for cold and rain. Won't help today with the rain but at least I'm good.
Threw my artic bibs in the truck and my winter keens are what I have on deck for the feet.

I had a Mt. Dew and drove my brothers truck one time many years ago, I laid my drink in the seat. Got to going wherever I was going and picked my drink up and took a swig, I grabbed the wrong Mt. Dew bottle and got his with spit in it

 

Last Tuesday night my wife, my brother, my 2 kids, and myself walked into his room as he lay in the ICU on life support and I laid my hand on his forehead and said a prayer over him and I ask for a little more time with him.

I'm not sure how much "a little more time" is. I wasn't specific when I ask. I am very thankful we have a little more time with him

 

I did a test on our internet at work yesterday, not to bad.





Then I did one in the shop when I got home, it's bad, lol.

 

When we sold the store, the tanks in the ground were still in our name and you have to go through a little paperwork to get them switched through the state (DEQ). We sent the paperwork in and the people who bought it tried their best to not take ownership of them cause they knew they would be digging them up and would try to make us pay for it.

We got a letter in the mail last year for the UST renewal so my wife called the state and the guy was real nice and said that letter sometimes goes out by mistake, the tanks are in the new owners name. Whew, what a relief.

My wife got a call about 2 months ago from a guy and he was asking about the tanks and tried to tell us they were in our name, we were suspicious and my wife said nope, we sold the place last year and they belong to blah blah. We think it was the guy installing the new tanks and the owner put him up to the call.


I went by there yesterday going to a grocery store and they were digging them up. I called my wife and told her. She said that explains why Petroserve called me today. They said they were looking for the owner, she said good luck getting in touch with them. It ain't us.







I stopped by this morning to get some better pictures, the tanks look really good to have been put in in 1988. They are 2,000 gallons, each.

 

Better than tacoma frames

 

Had a guy call me yesterday I used to do some work for and he was always saying how broke he was and didn't want to pay much. Haven't missed him, lol.

He's not broke and is actually pretty well off.

He said he had an old tobacco burner and he wanted to mount a mailbox in it and said you probably got some scrap 4" pipe for a post don't you? I don't want to spend much on it. I said I'll look and see.

I told him I would come by one day and look at it, he reiterated he doesn't want to spend much on it.

I may or may not get by there this year

 

A friend had a filling station built about 1970, when the tanks were removed about 45 years later you could still clearly read the manufacturers marks painted on the outsides. They must have used good steel & coatings back then -- definitely not what GM used on trucks in 2012...

 

Fucker fell out of the ugly tree and smacked his face into every branch on the way down...

 

^^^^ That is how he got to be pretty well off.

 

One thing that requires no budget to spend is time. Glad you’re getting a ‘lil more of it.

Kinda gives a whole new meaning to “Givin’ Tanks”.
