Bed Rail Manufacturing Defect

I have been having a hard time getting my bed rail cleats to snap in place and realized that the rails themselves are not fully stamped out. It is like pictured on both sides, the bottom is fully stamped but the top isn't along the entire length.

Has anyone else had this issue? I was going to go to the dealer when I have time and see if they can order a new set under warranty.

that seems like a reasonable course of action given the age of the truck.

 

5 minutes and a correct size flat head screw driver would fix that.

 

Hear is a picture from futher back down low near the bed to give reference of what the picture is of but you won't be able to see that is why I took the close up ones.

 

Ya, I tried that but there is still a lot of metal still attached.



Just wondering if anyone else has the issue because I guarantee they put them on a decent amount of trucks before they caught it.
