Any Prerunner or 2wd with OME 884 or 885 here? 2 1/2 or 3" lift?

I did a full OME lift in my 2005 with 885s. I eventually swapped to 4" maxtrac spindle lift and stock coilovers and enjoyed it much more.

What are the pros and cons? I removed my maxtrac a week ago. I want to stay at 2 1/2 or 3” lift to use my JBA UCAs and set my camber between 0 or -0.3 without sacrificing caster. I hate the positive camber of these Tacomas!

I believe I was running the 885x coils on OME shocks... To me it was too rough of a ride, but I think I was also having issues with seized LCA cam bolts. I also believe I didn't have enough weight on the front end to run the 885x coils. On my 2007 I went with Icon extended travel and total chaos UCAs and being able to adjust the ride height was worth the price difference. Icons were soft enough to give good ride quality but drove great even without a swaybar.

Yes, that makes sense! But I can't do a lot of spending right now. I recently moved from FL to TX and haven't been able to recover yet. Right now I have the OME 883 and according to David at Headstrong Offroad, it has the same spring rate of 590 lbs as the 884 and 885. Maybe my best choice is the 884.

What made you want to get rid of the spindle lift? That was my favorite setup so far.

I had them for 7 years combined with Bilstein at 0 and OME 883. About 5.5” of lift. In the back I have OME dakars with a 2” block, but for years I have suffered from vibration and axle wrap. I'm kind of tired of it! Besides, the poking tires are always messing up with mud, asphalt etc, the sides of the truck. Yes! The truck looks good, but is not practical.

I used OME for my first suspension setup before I switched to coilovers. The ride difference is night and day. I found OMEs to be stiff, and saving up for the coilovers was well worth it in the long run.
