before i start my own project thread, I have a switch coming on wednesday, but im wondering how I need to design my mount for it. Since this is usually in a door handle socket, are there clip tabs on the sides I can make in my 3d printed mount? the item is
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/145417595046

and im going to mount it in my clock area, I have a 3d printed clock mount that i can customize so i'm just looking for info on how to hold it in place.

That switch looks like it fits into a mount that has a face plate and is mounted from behind or below. A suggestion might be to find a clock delete plate and use that as your mounting face. Possibly Loctite Blue Bottle industrial adhesive (Home Depot) to hold it in. This is the adhesive that I used to hold my switch in place on the shifter console that I cut.

so far i'm not doing well. I ordered these:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VVH7768?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

they sent me a proper passenger side but the wrong drivers side. Of course I didn't notice the mount was wrong until after i had modified the wiring. waiting on a reply from them. I figured I'd just use the one for now but after 5 minutes of moving the mirror around, the motors stopped totally. Now I have 2 useless mirrors.

Damn! Well the good news is that you bought them from Amazon and their return policies are a breeze.

Just a speed bump in the project I hope.

so it looks like I have 3 choices for mirrors. OEM would be $350. Brock? TYC (the ones i got so no), Kool Vue? Lots of reviews show some duds with loose mounts. What brand did you get? It looks suspiciously like 1-2 companies make them and then others rebrand them.

    i bought TRQ through Amazon

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B722HSBY

They are doing fine for me.

For wiring I have started using solder zaps like these

im getting my power from the clock wire harness, i dont think that would make the mirror stop working? its 12v and i had a usb/voltmeter on it just fine. I sent them a photo of the incorrect mirror, hopefully i get at least a partial refund.

I have power 4runner mirrors on. The wiring should be easy. It's been about 8 years since I've done it but the wires coming off the pigtail on the switch are hot and ground. The other three should be easy to figure out by just jumping the wires to the mirror on a bench. Once you get them going up and down right and left, you should be good.

Here's a pic of my 4runner mirrors on my truck. Pardon the dirt.

Hopefully I can get this thread up and running again. Fingers crossed.

I have a 1996 tacoma with power side mirrors and one day the switch stopped working. I went online to find a replacement switch, but the only ones I can find don't seem to have the same pattern as the one pictured. I did find one person selling the whole driver's side panel (mirror control included) for nearly $300, which is too rich for my blood.

Unless anyone has any ideas on where to find the switch with the female end pictured, it looks like I might need to replace the switch with a different one, and then replace the male plug on the wiring harness to match the switch's female end.

I've taken a photo of the male end on the wiring harness and was wondering if anyone had any idea which wires go to what. I'm guessing pink is power, and black/white is ground, but frankly, I'm not sure. I also can't seem to find the wiring diagram for this anywhere.

PSA I bought these and they vibrate. Not great, but probably anything but OEM is going to be the same quality
