Anyone installed the 275/70/17 on the XL rating? Discount tires show this size being a HL on the website which I believe is a typo. Just want to confirm that they are actually XL and not HL before ordering.

message the discount tire crew here... usually fast to respond. On Toyo's website for that size they show both E rated oand XL. Why not go with e rated... heavier but more load capacity and deeper tread.

edit: Unfortunately it appears Discount Tires changed their ways...

275/70/17 E rated... handles great and tracks like a tank.

I’m on E’s with a 265. No issues don’t feel any thing that bugs me about em. But, maybe I would see/feel some things on a larger tire. But loving these for sure.

My experience with these tires on wet roads are slippery if you're going fast on a curvy ramp. Just slow down and you'll be fine.

Just installed them. So far so good. Only weird thing is that they took quite a bit of weight to balance. 7oz on one of the wheels, bit less on the others. Doesn’t have a vibration but seems excessive no?

I dunno, as long as they're smooth when driving. Did they line up the tire stamp with the valve stem? Were they road force balanced?

Anybody who is running these have experience coming from KO2's? I'm shopping for a lightweight 275/70/17 and this fits the bill nicely (XL version). I'm just curious about their quality and performance compared to the KO2's that I'm running right now.

Don't know if this helps but i ran BFG a/t E rated (pre KO2's) for the last 40 years. Don't see much difference wiith the Toyo R/T Trails (275/70/17 E rated) Handling is great/ road noise not bad at all. The snow handling might not be as good as the A/T's's but i knew that going in... kinda expected with a R/T.

Thanks! My main concern is dry/wet road handling since that is the most of what I encounter in NC outside of dirt/service roads and light offroading. Snow is not something that I see a lot of so as long as they're decent then I'm good with that. If they're on par with KO2s then I'm happy with that.

Have had the Toyo R/T Trails on for the last year but can't help much with driving in wet road conditions... doesn't rain alot here. I think as long as you use common sense and drive careful you'll be just fine.

Just ordered a set of 37x12.5r17's for my tundra. Will update as soon as I get them mounted. Was between R/T Trails and A/T III and my shop said go with the Trails even after I said I see snow and slush going up into VT to snowboard (I live in south NJ). Guess we'll see -- coming from 295/70/18's. (sorry wasn't much info on tundras.com so came to this thread)

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Havent pressed these offroad yet to compare that. 285/70-17 load c on 4runner. KO2s never balanced right but lasted over 50k miles. KO2s also lost chunks easily on trails i thought. Noise on road is about the same. KO2s better in heavy rain maybe. Dry handling is about same. RT Trails have thicker wall at rim protecting bead and edge of rim from damage better.
