2nd Harbor Freight coming to Harford County-

 

Went running errands earlier with the wife and ended up at a Toyota. Wanted to talk to a salesman about remaining ‘24 4Runners. While there, she started playing with a Rav4. Can’t say it’s a fav of mine, but she liked it. Took it for test drive and she liked it even more. I did like that it was $10k plus cheaper than the 4Runner.

Not making any decisions until taxes come back… either way, I’d like cash in hand for a down payment. Think we’ll keep her TrailBlazer for the kids, or sell it privately.

 

I tried getting my wife in a RAV4 but she was against that lol. Were there any 4R on the lot? I don’t think Jones Junction has had any for a while.

They seemed like a great SUV.

I’ve got an oil change scheduled for next week at Jones (free for life) and am hoping the trail hunter I’ve been watching is there and I can test drive it.

Wife said she’s kill me but a test drive won’t hurt anything

 

I recently started watching content about the 2025 4 runner. Man do those things look nice. I’ll be curious to see what the prices are…That Everest color and the dark green are awesome looking. That’s going to be a tempting vehicle depending on the price.

 

The prices on those 5th gen 4Runner’s are a joke.

Maybe if our salaries went up to match…

hahah so true about moving stuff. On the other hand, I don’t know if it would have enough room for stuff for my cross country trips. I also don’t think I could ever bring myself to sell my truck but who knows.

I agree about the price, I bet it will be pretty much out of reach for the average working joe.

No, sadly none at Jones… I’ve been keeping an eye out almost daily. We stopped at Crooks in Westminster, I mean Koons (I think)… but they didn’t have any either. Oursman in Frederick had some come in over past couple weeks, but they disappeared as quickly as they came off the truck. And I’m pretty sure they are going at full price, no incentives.

I’m not really interested in the ‘25s simply because I don’t believe in the 4cyl turbo. Yes, theoretically they make same if not more power… but that’s only under full boost from the forced induction system. I like low end power, especially for things like snow and hauling the boat. I don’t want to wait for a turbo to spoil up and make boost to finally get power from an engine. That’s fine as a daily driver… not for utility.

Per the Rav4… it was much larger inside than expected. While there I already googled lifts for it. Can go 2.5” for under $500… they don’t look half bad in pictures with 32’s. I know it’ll never be any more than a run around town vehicle… not hauling 4k lb boat with it anyway, but it’ll fit us and the kids with ease. Maybe trips through the farm out to the ponds as far as “off-roading” goes. But it’s hers, so whatever she wants she gets.



As for now, I’m going to let her think about it… no rush to jump. Probably after the 1st of the year. Unless, stumble onto a 4Runner before then. But she’s pretty adamant about getting the sand color interior on her next vehicle… and they are all but unicorns. I’ve got dealers looking and have our number, so we will see.

The toyota allocation system is frustrating. I had to drive an hour down to sheehy for my gr86. Jones didn't know when or what they would be getting. I like that rav4. : )
