Deer hunting BS thread

Nothing but beautiful sunset and took the new muzzleloader sling out

 

I forgot to tell you, that even though some of us had problems with that rifle. They are some bad ass deep woods guns where you shots are 30 yards or less. After my back surgery I couldn't shoot any more big bore guns, so I sold the Remington and gave my son in law my Marlin 30-06.

 

Yep, got #2 tonight

 

I saw two nice looking bucks today. Couldn't get a shot at either of them. Oof...

 

Took her back to where we met yesterday...

 

Have sat and watched 10 does ( not on my property) heard 3 shots and 4 now
As i type and here these does wander

Looks like the Deer had a field day ‘round here with Halloween pumpkins folks left out.

 

I don't blame him. I wouldn't want to come out during the day right now either. Lol.

I swear it feels like they know when the rifle portion starts up here in my state. As soon as it's over, I start seeing way more deer. Super frustrating.

 

But at least he's still out there, just keep hunting, he'll show up at some point in time.

 

Mine is a really soft shooter for 30-06. Semi-Auto helps obviously.

 

I actually got my youngest daughter to go into the woods with me. She would take a book and sit there and read the whole time. One year when we were in my ground blind during bow season. I had told here on the walk in, that is she see's something that I don't, just tap my on the shoulder. Just as the sun was just staring to shine pretty good, she yells out "Hey Dad they're over Here" while pointing out the other blind window. Needless to say the deer all bolted in different directions. I still invited here to come sit with me after that, and we both did get a good laugh out of it.

 

Finally got around to working on my euros. And I will not do another one for someone who first tried a fire ant method without skinning it out! Peroxide next. Maybe whiten his some if I’m lucky.

 

First time I shot a 30-06 was a Remington semi auto. I was maybe 19 at the time as blown away at how little recoil it had. And then 25 years later I buy one used at a local pawn shop. I really liked that gun, and was bummed when my doctor tells me no more 30 caliber guns.
