That pic definitely makes it look long. That is in Death Valley at the top of south pass on the way to Saline Valley Hot Springs. My friends puny vehicles have everything strapped to the top while my trail limo gets to tuck it all inside :)

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Which trail? We ran River Road West for about 20 miles a couple years back. Turned back when it started getting soft and we were the only ones out there.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
My guess is Old Ore Rd by the hills in the background.

You could be right. We only ran a couple of miles of that exploring the park. We were there a few months after the monsoons had washed out a lot of the roads. I think that one was open, but it was getting late so we didn't venture too far being solo.

Good question! I think that was Glen Springs Rd? I camped at Robbers Roost that night, which was about an hour down a couple of different roads that got progressively narrower and rockier. That must have been earlier when it was still wide enough for two vehicles. This one was later, I think on Juniper Canyon. I spent a lot of time hiking, but I wish I had a few more days there to tool around and explore the roads more.

I agree. We had four nights planned with three days in the park. A lot of the back trails were still closed when we were there. I'd like to get back in the fall or spring and explore a bit more. I've heard the TX state park is pretty good as well.

That's a good idea. But it will be Spring '26 before that happens. New house this spring.
